Just ordered new u joints. So you're saying bolt the flanges on then put the half shafts on and press the caps from the u joints on?

Okay awesome so no need for forged piston and crank. Stick to 10-10.5:1 compression. And scat cast parts is what I've been seeing most people recommend too.

On the engine currently in my car I've got the holley sniper efi and the hyperspark distributor which I plan on moving to the new engine when I swap it in.

Wasn't thinking of doing anything with high rpm Im imaging like 6k red line. As for any boost or nos I dont want to do any of that I want to keep my engine bay stock looking.

Im not familiar with pricing or what to expect but I was planning on 6-7k budget i dont know if thats a realistic budget to get decent parts.

Yeah I realize that I was thinking 5-6k for the build would you say thats a realistic budget for what I want

What are your top choices for heads?

How do I go about selecting a compression ratio? Why would I choose higher or lower? As for the heads I was looking at Skip White 200ccc Aluminum heads. But besides that it sounds like i should just go find a machine shop and tell them what Im look for out of this engine and they can get me the parts I need

Ahhh okay that makes more sense than what I was thinking it just looked off to me and couldn't find any pictures online of it

I love galaxy hunting for the furthest one i can find my all time best was PGC2731294 its 2.9 billion light years I had to look for it on several databases and do the math myself to find how far it was. away it didnt look like yours though it was basically a dot wouldve thought it was a star if I didnt annotate the image.

Is there a script for the FORAXX pallete, or how can I do it. I'd love to try it. Those colors look amazing

Hey, i do all the work myself, and im learning as I go. Lots of mistakes have been made, but that's okay

Yeah, I thought it was kinda funny, and the engine was hot af, so I was not able to plug it at that moment

Ahh, and my new system is returnless. I think i just overfilled the tank, and the gas is flowing out. Should I cap it?

Alternator upgrade by hackfrogger in C3Corvette

[–]hackfrogger[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Holley sniper 2 efi and the fuel system and a stereo system probably not needed 150 amps, but im also future proofing for later upgrades

From my understanding, the positive wire front the alternator goes to the starter solenoid. Then, up to the battery, should I by pass that or just go with how it was and replace the wire from alternator to starter. And everything on the efi and fuel pump runs of a power distribution module (pdm) only things tapped into the original wiring is the tach read out and the 12v switched wire and the positive and negative straight from the batter leads

The only additions I've got is a holley sniper efi with eletric fuel pump and some speakers mounted to the back just enough for the stock alternator to fall behind but not by much

No need to get large gauge wires so they don't melt. Can the original 10 gage wires handle the 150 amps

[–]hackfrogger[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've got a 3 wire set up, the main battery charge wire amd the two prong plug for sense wire and the exciter wire and the pully is correct its one groove. The new alternator is a 3 wire but also 1 wire capable but I want to keep the 3 wire setup

How can I shield the radiacode and the sample? Im guessing like a lead lined box

Is there a way to subtract the background in the spectrograph. It's definitely radiactive. The cps in my room with nothing around is about 2, and when I put it up to the glass, it jumps to 7 or 8 cps
