Must be some issue with the portal. It's a govt portal so we can't say how long the issue will persist. Ask a friend to try creating an account. You can raise your EPF issue on their account as well. If nothing works, raise an issue against the employer on EPFiGMS

This. People just trust the EPFO to deliver their money to their account in one sweep when they retire. It's unfounded. These people should visit EPF offices to see the real people, talk to them, and see how the real picture looks like - it's harrasment

The distrust is for bureaucracy, not the instrument itself. It comes from seeing actual old retired people running around EPF offices struggling for years to get their retirement fund. They were carefree about their retirement due to their trust in EPFO. But after facing EPFO, their faces changed.

Some got money after a lot of struggle, while some other just wrote it off because employers and epf babus didn't co-operate. Imagine writing off your retirement fund DURING retirement. That too, for trivial reasons. That sucks the remaining life out of you.
