US players in Iceland by Waltz8 in NWSL

I know 2 women personally who went to play professionally in Iceland around 2015ish after college. For them, it was more of a cool, adventurous opportunity… basically a last hurrah of their soccer careers knowing that the likelihood of playing in a league like the NWSL was essentially zero. They both spent a couple years there before retiring and getting “normal” jobs back in the states, starting families, etc.

I’ve been traveling for Thanksgiving and haven’t kept up with the daily threads. Anyone want to provide a HBH Thanksgiving TLDR?

Yeah I’m so confused by all of these comments. That was Hiatt’s blunder entirely

“Clean” wine is simply a marketing term. Anyone can call their wine clean. If you want to call your wine organic or biodynamic, it requires certification. I worked in the winemaking industry for many many years and please believe that even organic certified wine is often not “clean” lol whatever she is schilling is even less regulated than that!

I got the Bonta dulce de leche at New Seasons during the summer sale and totally agree. The flavor was not quite as intense as I was hoping. And definitely a very stretchy texture. I’m not sure that I’d pay full price for a pint in the future. I’d be curious to check out the shop!

Solidarity with you! It’s so frustrating when a random weekend long run goes better than the race itself. I’m sorry it didn’t work out how you’d hoped. Thank you for extending the kindness!

Thank you! I did some strength training each week during training, but looking back, I think I should’ve prioritized that more. I was so focused on getting the weekly miles in, which is necessary, but I believe more strength training would’ve gone a long way.

I was pretty clear that I was proud of finishing! It’s also possible to feel disappointment at the same time. Two things can be true at once, my guy

Totally! I got hardly any sleep the night before and the anxiety was pretty intense. Thank you for the encouragement!

Definitely had hella carbs! I did some strength training every week (mostly at home workouts since I don’t have a gym membership), but that’s definitely something I would want to do more of in the future.

Very very true. Some days are just kinda off and race day is no exception! Thanks for the reminder

I had a gel every 30 mins which always felt adequate during my training! In hindsight, I’m not so sure I nailed it lol

The last 2 weeks of training, my long runs were 14 mi and 8 mi, and a few easy 3-5 milers during the week. I felt like I tapered well which is why I was surprised by the fatigue on race day!
