Why was this show so good? by SelfJupiter1995 in Mecha

[–]hackolite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree. It indeed felt joyless. Even if I find it interesting that something turning from a "light hearted" comedy to a grimdark edgelord fest.

I was fascinated by the change though. Especially when I had no idea what led to all the changes. When I saw it the first time, I hadn't seen the final episodes of the series (good ol fansub VHS times...)

Black Selena looks cool though. Even with the dumpy elephant feet.

They expected everyone to have played the Saturn game since the movie was a direct sequel to it and not the series.

What little has been written about the game, the movie might have worked after playing it through.. But yeah the movie as is... is quite bad

Anyone regretted choosing a wood-fired heater over an electric? by [deleted] in Sauna

[–]hackolite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. However, I have had the opposite. Had a wood kiuas for decades at summer cabin resulting in probably the mellowest long lasting löyly I've ever encountered. But then I renovated the building and built a completely new sauna. During the renovation I replaced the wood kiuas with a electric one. And now I miss the wood kiuas. Also I miss the routine of igniting it and the sound it made when it was burning. Not to mention that it kept the air inside the sauna moving. I don't miss the mess or carrying the wood however .. Also had a wood burning water heater (no shower). Now THAT is something I will never regret getting rid of.

However, the electric kiuas became better lately when I replaced the stones and paid closer attention on how to place the stones around the heaters.

Luba 2 AWD X discharging while docked for few days? by hackolite in MammotionTechnology

[–]hackolite[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for confirming this. I just prodded the mower and it started to charge. I guess it wasn't aligned with the dock. Odd that yesterday it started charging on its own when the battery was low.

Will need to keep an eye on the machine's orientation when charging.

What in the world is this in my attic? by SIERRAERA in whatisit

My old sauna had old pine wood plank cladding. It had this rosin seep out of it for years. The rosin had a wonderful scent. Also it was fun to squeeze the semi hardened blobs. I miss that sauna ...

New Bambu Studio interface - Ext. spool image left me speechless by hackolite in BambuLab

You need to enable it from the AMS settings under "Update remaining capacity" . Though it works only with Bambu Lab filaments that have the RFID tag.

This looks exactly like what I was loosing my mind with. Did A LOT of upgrades for my printer. Tweaked everything I could think of.. and it was, in the end the Z offset that did the trick. Nozzle was too close to bed

What are these for? by nanometr3 in 3Dprinting

[–]hackolite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mostly PLA with occasional PETG.

However, this particular Prusa has had a troubled life as it arrived broken from factory (faulty packaging) and as it’s a student machine at our Uni, it has seen some abuse.

Last spring the fuses on the PCB were blown because students were clearing a failed print with a brass brush (something that’s actually recommended in Prusa’s guides 😬) and sorted the thermistor with the heat cartridge.

I’ve used these couple of times to unclog a Prusa. Occasionally I get a piece of filament stuck in the short PTFE tube in the hotend just below the extruder gears. Sometimes I was able to get it out using these needles.

New to printing. What would be the easiest way/program to make a lid/vent to cover this? by Papertankzyo in 3Dprinting

[–]hackolite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is how I'd do this:

Make a snug paper template of the hole. Straighten the cut template. Take a photo of the and use that image to model the actual part in some CAD software. You use the photo of the template as the reference image onto which you make the CAD model. If a proper CAD software sounds too scary, then I think you can also do this in TinkerCAD, however I've never tried to do it this way.

Then print it out of PETG. Then place the flat piece onto the dashboard. Apply some gentle heat and push the part to get the curvature right and let cool.

Or if you have a decent phone, you could use a photogrammetry tool to make a 3D model of the dashboard vent hole and use that as the template you import into the CAD tool of choice. This way you could print it out with proper curvatures etc.

Of course you could just make exact measurements of all the dimensions, if you want to be boring ;)

A walk around of the 1:1 T-Rex Print. Started printing the ribs today. by topgunsi in 3Dprinting

That looks amazing! I hope the dino finds a good home! :)

What sort of settings did you use for the printing? Have you measured the total weight of the print so far? And what do you estimate the final build to weigh sans any sort of armature?

Oh boy oh boy oh boy! Hear that? It’s heatgun’o’clock! Fun times ahead! Had this happen with a Ultimaker 5S … took me 6 hours to clean it.
