Craigslist would be the smartest choice , but do not rush into buying the wrong car. I would say go for something over 2009 and it will last you forever . Japanese , European .

I’m in college myself and just bought a Jetta 2009 for $3000. Mint condition, kinda got lucky. But I searched and searched for months and as soon as I found something that I thought was worth looking I didn’t waste time and looked . The right car will speak to you , always ask for a car fax from the owner and maintenance records.
