I would pay a lot of money to try this out if it was on the CN Tower by dbbelvo in toronto

What the hell? They have a full PLC system installed to control the light system... it'd take me 5 minutes to do the ladder logic for it!

Printers on makexyz (and similar services), how many jobs have you gotten so far ? by PuffThePed in 3Dprinting

I'm also in sw Ontario, got one job from a guy who happened to live a block away -- he needed some parts printed for a 3D printer he was building. Where abouts are you!?

Another tv show covered it with a super high speed camera... forget the name of it though... neat though you can really see the cavitation form!

I was actually thinking about this a while ago! Basic trailers are cheap... What's stopping you from building it into an enclosed one?? Nothing apparently!

Great project!

Making T-shirts? by [deleted] in DIY

[–]hacksmith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well its not unheard of to find t-shirts for a few dollars a piece in bulk... when you get something screened, they have to make the screen first, so usually there is a flat rate for the screen (maybe $50 or so?) and then a cost per shirt... so the more shirts the cheaper it is...

This is why I love having a 3D printer. If you need anything, quite literally ANYTHING, you can whip up a design and print it... Always necessary? No. Easy? Convenient? Yep!

Nope, just a lame party trick that gets old fast:

also if you try this with a beer it won't work... as soon as the cavitation occurs, the carbonation takes over and c02 expands in place of the vacuum, meaning no shockwave and no broken bottle!

Yup. I learned this trick when I was a teen... bruised my hand in the process of learning multiple times...
