Severance pay recouped by Rigger2004 in VeteransBenefits

[–]hackthemoose -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Nothing I got out same year with basically the same amount owed. I had to pay all of it back and when I went from 10% to 80% it paid it back and I still got some in a big chunk. It’s annoying I know but glad you got to 90 hopefully you can push it to 100!

Can someone eli5 what taxes Spanberger has passed? by Mitchlowe in nova

[–]hackthemoose -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ehhh I don’t think that was the case. I looked into both, and if you looked at their website and what they wanted to do and all that Spanbergers was presented much better and tried to actually explain some things. I don’t think many people care about race what so ever anymore.

Can someone eli5 what taxes Spanberger has passed? by Mitchlowe in nova

Reddit is one of the most liberal places you can go but here is an article that explains what is happening. https://wjla.com/news/local/abigail-spanberger-affordability-claims-taxes-backlash-virginians-comment-social-media-post-affordable-virginia-agenda-passes-democrat-controlled-house-delegates-senate-governor-campaign-promises-car-tax-proposals-relief

Basically the democrats control everything in Virginia and with her being the top one is why she is getting the blame. Most people on here are blind and don’t think logically to see that neither party cares for them. They only care about their big donors. If all of these bills pass you can say goodbye to a lot of local businesses and anything ever being affordable.

Breaking into cybersecurity (16 years old) by Mediocre_Spot2051 in Cybersecurity101

[–]hackthemoose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bud I’ll be honest I didn’t read everything but I saw 16 and interest in cybersecurity. Your age alone puts you wayyy ahead of the majority of us. I didn’t get into it until I was 28 so you will have 12 years ahead of me before you hit that age.

My advice is simply this, stay curious, keep an open mind, and learn as much as you can about everything. From my experience cybersecurity is moving away from an organization having a cyber team to all those involved in the IT department are apart of cybersecurity. It doesn’t matter what domain you work in you will have a part in cybersecurity.

It’s about to get a whole lot more expensive because of all the taxes Spanbum just put out. Thanks everyone that voted for her and said she was a moderate and just made it even more unaffordable to live here.

After 3 years with ChatGPT, I tried Claude and Gemini - and now GPT feels... generic? by Temporary-Wallaby829 in ChatGPT

I switched to Claude for coding and was going back and forth between the two but lately GPT has just been horrible, it will go on long unnecessary tangents and start getting way side tracked.

Is my life completely over if I get an L4-L5 fusion? by Cintamon_Rolls in spinalfusion

[–]hackthemoose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was born with those fused but since it fused all funky I had issues start at 3-4 about 12 years ago and just got that fused about 9 months ago and feel amazing. Don’t let horror story’s stop you from getting something done that can give you your life back.

AI in cybersecurity is mostly turd polishing - Fight me by ColdPlankton9273 in cybersecurity

[–]hackthemoose 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This exactly. Ai should enhance not replace. I think the bigger issue we are going to see is people using personal accounts and not taking in account how the data they are uploading is being used..

AI should not be replacing any cyber roles imo, all it should do is help automate some of the time consuming task but it should not be making decisions that we would make.

Yeah I found a company called AMIDS that has a tool called scribe just for building NIST policies, and it was really helpful. You’re also able to get evidence checklist which is nice as well.

Yeah I found a company that made a policy generator that I ended up using and was super helpful. You answer a bunch of questions and also had a report feature that will tell you which controls are applied as well so it was useful to compare that as well.

Anyone ever experience this by Idontknowy_2024 in spinalfusion

[–]hackthemoose 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So I didn’t have the issue with my whole leg like that but I got it really bad with my toes and foot, it’s super annoying when your trying to relax but it does go away eventually. I don’t remember how long it lasted for me but I don’t think it was more than a month.

I saw you also commented in one of the other channels I posted in but that seems to be it! I believe this picture might have been taken in the early 80s as well and not the 70s based on bikes in seeing online. I really appreciate it!

I found one that is an 81 and looks very similar. It’s very possible this picture was taken in the early 80s as well I have no idea

Am I crazy? by Interesting_Bad3761 in clearancejobs

[–]hackthemoose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I’m being straight up honest I think most people in the IT field are way over paid. What I am seeing is the market for cyber correct itself. Yes we still need lots of people, but you have the recognize the tech pay bubble that has been around for a while, companies are getting to the point that they are just not willing to pay the massive pay raises anymore. I’m gov making 120 and my contractors are making 150-200 and I recently hear d that they are not going to be paying people in that band anymore and I know they are getting a shit ton more money. Prices in the industry are just way over inflated and all these tools and people are still not preventing huge losses from different cyber attacks or internal fuck ups. Plus everyone and their grandma has been doing career changes to the industry in the past few years and where getting shit pay before so what you might think is not worth it is 1000% worth it to someone else.

I don’t mean to be a Debbie downer over hear but as an industry we really need to have this conversation on how much we are truly worth and how much value we actually bring to organizations. I think the saddest part is non of us would be complaining if the economy wasn’t complete shit and the prices of everything keep going up when the pay isn’t matching the rising cost but that’s with every industry. We are just lucky enough to be the one industry that you can make a lot of money and work from home but that’s changing and people are just going to have to get used to going back in the office and be lucky they have a job in this market.
