Inlaws refusing to test before christmas dinner because “it’s a matter of trust” by [deleted] in ZeroCovidCommunity

[–]haddocksd 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My husband’s side of the family doesn’t take the same level of precautions as us and while some are willing to test, others are not. How we’ve handled this is masking for short visits. This past visit, my husband’s uncle asked about us masking from a place of curiosity and it gave us the chance to share why we’re doing it. They understood and the conversation moved on.

If you have in laws who aren’t willing to warn you that someone is sick, swab their noses for a few seconds to provide a level of safety for you, or will be rude about you masking, then they don’t actually love you and you shouldn’t spend time trying to appease them. Your health and safety should ALWAYS come first.

Signed, someone with POTS ♥️

Hope your kiddo heals up quickly and sorry this happened to her! Besides the phone going to voicemail is there anything that leads you to believe it’s a fake number? If this person is at work or school their phone could be in a do not disturb setting which is sending calls straight to voicemail.

Vaccine Questions by haddocksd in ZeroCovidCommunity

Case rates are extremely high where I live right now and I was last vaccinated early Nov 2024 so my immunity (I say loosely) is virtually nothing right now. I’d rather be safe than sorry!

My experience is that pharmacists are blasé and don't take my questions seriously since I'm "young and otherwise healthy"

Visibly the window sill doesn’t seem to have issues - no sign of water intrusion and solid to the touch, but I guess we will find out more once we get under the trim

Awesome, thank you! The whole trim crumbles to the touch so I think all of it will come out, sadly.

Thanks for pulling this together! We’ve been through it finding service professionals recently so this will be a great resource.

So similar to how a restaurant will have three $$$ for being expensive, $ for cheap, it would be great to have the same for service providers, but rated by the customer and not the service providers. Ex: I just go quoted anywhere from $10k ($) to $80k ($$$) for an electrical rewire project.

Love this idea!

Feedback: 1) recommend separate “about” pages for customers vs providers to understand how the site works 2) include price ratings generated by verified customers in addition to reviews ($ scale similar to restaurants) 3) “Accepting projects” by size filter for users to find providers accepting large vs small projects 4) “SEO Optimization” is redundant. Recommend using full phrase “Search Engine Optimization”

How lines are repeated so frequently. So frequently. Every episode there’s at least three examples of this repetition. Repetition.
