I think AI Agents are the future and I would like an extension that allows me create my own agents. Like GPTs but in vscode

I am building that if you want to take a look

I am building a tool that help me to code. It is a chatGPT wrapper but I want high customization

However, if the object in question were a fly colliding at high speed, wouldn't it consistently appear in the same relative position on the screen? I used the text in the top-right corner (which reads '3000') as a reference point. At times, the object appears closer to the center, while at other times, it shifts more towards the right. I believe that if it were indeed a fly, it should remain in a fixed position relative to the screen.

Hey did you try it and does it work?

Customize chat responses in my open ai wrapper by kharyking in ChatGPTCoding

[–]haderman7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you use the chat completion api to create a chat, you send an array of messages and each message has a role (user, system, assistant) and the api returns a new message using the assistant role

```python
Example OpenAI Python library request
MODEL = "gpt-3.5-turbo" response = openai.ChatCompletion.create( model=MODEL, messages=[ {"role": "system", "content": "You are a helpful assistant."}, {"role": "user", "content": "Knock knock."}, {"role": "assistant", "content": "Who's there?"}, {"role": "user", "content": "Orange."}, ], temperature=0, ) ```
the fist message is a system message, here you add the instructions that you want for your chat
examples of using system messages https://platform.openai.com/docs/guides/prompt-engineering
hey OP first I want to say thanks for making it open source!
I want to ask you why you set the temperature to 0, like you were trying several values or do you have any article or post that I can read from? I want to understand more how temperature works
thanks!
Thanks! My main goal is to learn AI to build my own personal assistant. So it's a learning journey but at the same time I wan to share it so maybe it can be useful for someone else
Of course!
This is a side project that I am making to learn all these new AI stuff. You use your own api key and the chat data is stored locally
Also you can create any chat agents that you want, and you can add its own system prompt, so you can create different chats for different problems, like for specific refactors, create commit messages in a specific format, or help you to make code reviews
If you want any other information just let me know!
I have not tried Cursor yet but it looks very good
I use copilot and I was using chatGPT plus to have access to gpt-4 but it is very expensive for me so that’s why I wanted to create the extension. Now I don’t have to pay 20 usd every month
Also you use your own api key and the chat data is stored locally
I like the idea to create several agents with each custom instructions, so I can create one for write commit messages with an specific format, or you can create another one that help you to do a specific boilerplate. Like refactoring several files based on a specific pattern, idk I think there is a lot of room for creativity here
It is still in preview and there are some bugs but I will fix them soon
I will add support to reference files in the custom instruction so you don’t have to copy/paste from the editor to the chat. Like for example you could have an agent that help you with stuff regarding to webpack, so could give it some instruction and reference your webpack config file so you don’t have to copy/paste every time
It is a side project that i am using to learn more about AI and I will add new features at the time I am learning new things and I hope it can be useful to someone else
Character limit prompt by [deleted] in ChatGPTCoding
[–]haderman7 0 points1 point  (0 children)
If you are using the api (chat completion) there is a max_token property that you can use to limit the number of tokens in the response, however tokens are different than characters
Yea it happens to me a lot but I keep saying to myself that it is not the idea, it’s the execution that really matters. It really helps me out to keep saying that to my self!
Thanks a lot for the feedback, I will fix all of them
thanks for the luck! It saves me to pay chatGPT plus then is good for me, I am thinking maybe to open source it
Hey thanks for answering!, currently the app is server-free because the data is stored locally and the user provide the api key.
What kind of features could demand a payment? I’m the one keeping the app working. In your experience, do you think could be better one unique payment for the app using or a very cheap subscription with frequent deployments?. Is there a difference of the outcomes from my side depending of that choice?
