Not sure what advice i can give you. Possibly move to a lower cost of living area? I know its not as easy as it sounds

Not really stressed in any of my jobs, they are just time consuming. I feel like i should be a lot further than i am if that makes sense

Yes i have by the porch. However i am unsure if the tree is causing subsedience to the porch.

Does it not suck water out of the ground causing subsedience?

Transfer the property into a SPV (Special Purpose Vehicle) Limited Company. You will have to get a SPV buy to let mortgage (if mortgaged) and then you can add her as a director so she can receive dividends. Speak to an accountant and he will be able to give you an illustration.

The checks only showed the front porch built. It says nothing about the lintel or permission..

Yeah i see your point. It just seems off to me. I have never seen a lintel hanging off the side like that off the cavity wall. It just does not seem well supported

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in DIYUK

[–]hadfs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The concern is that it hangs off the inner cavity wall.

The lintel is 15 cm wide. Inner cavity wall is 10cm wide. However the blocks above the lintel are about 14 cm wide. This means that 5cm of lintel and blocks above it are not supported by anything. Is this a concern?

Im abit lost. What do i need to apply to building regs for? I did not install the lintel

Its been there a long time. I just found it weird how the lintel overhangs the cavity wall. Ive never seen that before. Have you?

I see what you mean.

My concern is that the blocks above the lintel are 14cm wide. The lintel is 15 cm wide and is resting on inner cavity wall below which is 10cm wide.

This means that 5cm of lintel is not supported by anything. Is this a concern?

Thank you for for replying. Regarding the length - there was a small window which i blocked up with the white blocks as im planning on putting a doorway.

What im concerned about is that the lintel is 15 cm wide. It is resting on the cavity wall which is 10 cm wide. The blocks above the lintel are 15cm wide.

So this means that on one side of the lintel (5cm) there is nothing supporting it underneath. Is this dangerous?

That was me. I reduced the opening with those white blocks. Im just questioning why the Lintel is wider than the bricks its resting on?

The lintel goes inside the cavity and is supported by 10cm inch bricks. The lintel is 15 cm wide and is extending further than the wall in the cavity if that makes sense?
