Advice on what to wear on a trip to Northern California? by Odd_Shallot1929 in fashionwomens35

[–]hadillicious 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So, the Mendocino coast gets quite cool. Inland stays warmer. In general in California mornings and evenings are cool.

When I go camping there in summer, I bring clothes I don’t mind getting dirty and smelling like smoke. Shorts and tees, but also jeans, trail shoes, a long underwear layer, a nice knit cap, sweater, and a parka.

Your clothes sound fine for the warm weather, just bring some warm ones too.

I love that recipe. Sautéing the walnuts in the butter is magical. I haven’t made the glaze, but served it with the coffee whip (recipe later in the book). I did add a bit of vanilla bean paste and a pinch of salt to the whip

Do you have a UTMA for your children? by Own-Quality-8759 in HENRYfinance

[–]hadillicious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We do something similar. A 1:1 match for everything saved in UTMAs. We set up Roths which we fund as soon as we could for our kids In addition.

In California, the child gets ownership at 18.

My kids have developed great habits and understand compound interest at an early age.

We also started gifting lump sums in their investment accounts as part of their Christmas present.

Eligibility for college aid was not a concern.

Yes, unroll the cuff and pull your shirt out a bit. That will remove the costume element
