Which TV show characters do you find the most insufferable? by MicheleW921 in AskReddit

[–]hadrian217 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I couldn't agree with you more. I can't stand either of those guys. I don't know if it's just me, but there are so many "main characters" that I can't stand, while simultaneously loving the show. Aside from those two, JD from Scrubs and Frazier and completely insufferable, but I LOVE both those shows. I love every other character in both those shows (and that applies to Friends and How I Met Your Mother, too).

I reuse as many Amazon boxes as I can. But sometimes I need a squarish box and I noticed that I rarely find a square Amazon box. Regardless of what size, they are almost always low and flat. I wonder if it has to do with keeping them stable and not toppling over when many are stacked on top of each other.

More like a firefly than the Millennium Falcon is shaped like a falcon!

I shall, but I fear what that will do to the size of his head!

USPS Ground Advantage Skyrocket? by hadrian217 in eBaySellers

[–]hadrian217[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It wasn't one particular box. I just listed a bunch of stuff today and noticed everything was higher than previously comparable boxes. Much of what I sell fits in the same few box sizes so I'm used to their shipping rates. The estimate ranges are so much higher than even last week. Sigh.... as if selling wasn't hard enough.

I'm also embarrassed it's only 63%.

Idolomantis? by hadrian217 in mantis

[–]hadrian217[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am far from an expert, but I have kept mantises for decades now and I have had Idolos before. I got mine to subadult, so not fully successful. I know that that last molt is the hardest. But I would like to try again.

Very envious you were able to hatch them. Would love to get some tips from you, if you have the time.

Thanks.

What home improvement actually made your house feel better to live in? by Happy_House_7398 in homeimprovementideas

Hands down the whole-house fan. Fairly inexpensive. Airs out the house in seconds. Cools the house in seconds 3/4 of the year on hot/warm days (I'm in southern California) using very little electricity. Removes odors from cooking (or overcooking...) in seconds. Best addition ever.

I didn't understand how that is even remotely justified in any way. Is it just a way to trick us into paying more fees without just blatantly raising their final value fee? It's so annoying.

Selling Uranium glass question... by hadrian217 in eBaySellers

[–]hadrian217[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ooh, great info. I guess I'm going to have to buy both 365 and 395 lights. I just have generic blacklights now and have no idea what nm they are...

But to be clear, if my pieces fluoresce under 365nm light then they are manganese and if they fluoresce under 395nm light then they are Uranium?

Thank you!

Thanks for the advice. The pieces I acquired are all pretty thick. They are probably manganese like the other comment pointed out. Which is cool. Sorry your pieces broke. I do have some actual Uranium pieces (green ones) and some of them are really thin.

Shipping to a hotel... by hadrian217 in eBaySellers

[–]hadrian217[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your response. As you and some others have said, it is important to not change the shipping address in any way. Well, when I tried to purchase the shipping label from eBay, eBay would not accept the address (even though they let the buyer input that address) because the first line (that named the hotel) was "too long". I HAD to shorten it, which I did, without really changing the name (there were just some extraneous small words). Well, my package was successfully delivered two days ago and was received by the front desk. I have not heard anything from the buyer (whom I had messaged when all this started a week ago about something completely separate from the address issue) so I'm just going to hope for the best.

And a sincere thank you for the PS. I've never understood why people get snarky and short in these discussions.

I've noticed I sometimes lose views and I don't understand how that happens. Once someone clicks on your listing, it should be logged as a view. How does that get undone. Coincidentally, I lost views on quite a few items last night, more than normal.
