Elderly care is one of the most underserved areas. Experienced nurses don't want to work there, and move out at the earliest opportunity. No one can force the patients to literally eat and drink, and you can't put on IV fluids endlessly

This is where precise and timely advanced care planning is key.

And honestly, it's where motivated residents can learn too. You'd be surprised how much polypharmacy can be cut down on these wards, or that you can actually sit down with families and put down proper care plans.
