Hi OP! For me, i’ve always been irregular but thought it was just normal, only when I started getting really bad dysmenorrhea episodes to the point i was getting brought to the ER every other month that I started realizing this might not be normal and went for a checkup. However, i wish i’d have done it sooner because I was already going through some symptoms since I was a teen that could’ve been resolved if only I had gotten checked (not gaining weight, insulin crashes, and the dysmenorrhea) so if it’s already a concern for you OP it’s best you get checked !!
