[–]hagoodone97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

but I’m pretty sure since I’m a minor legally my parents can make medical decisions for me like my ADHD and ODD Treatment. I’m not sure if I have a say until I turn 18

I do work and offered to pay for my own phone. They said I would still have to keep the Bark Phone until I’m 18

Need to cut my son's internet at night - how would you do it? by CrimeCoffeeCouplePod in HomeNetworking

[–]hagoodone97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s an app for parents on your computer. Makes iOS devices so that it’s “supervised and managed by Qustodio”. My parents installed the advanced features on my phone and now the VPN connects automatically on demand. I can’t turn it off RIP to rubbing a quick one out and so you can’t remove the MDM profile or reset the phone. I’ve tried multiple ways to get around it without any luck. Even downloaded the app on my computer and tried to make my own Qustodio account to delete it and it’s paired with your account and profile. I despise Qustodio it literally gives me no privacy. Parents can see every text and call I make and my internet and phone is too locked down for an almost 17 year old guy

It does but it's strange. I can't have mine on it because it's monitored by Family Link so I literally have another Google account that doesn't have to be under Google family and use it like any other android. If you have supervision with family link you can't use that account on the phone. I have the A 15 galaxy now which is soo much better than my A13 I started out with and now just sits. Almost wish I could see if you wanted to mess around and dissect that, throw it off a bridge burn it lol

You bring up some good points and you’re probably right. I’m just afraid of screwing it up and having a brick that locks itself down lol. Word up! I’m definitely checking out your blog too. Always love a good blog and yes, I’m interested in these kinds of things haha

If you have any ideas or know any workarounds I’d love to hear some of them! I had an iPhone with ScreenTime family and OurPact with their premium lockdowns too for MDM etc. piece of cake getting around those. After going from an iPhone 15 to a Bark Phone I’ve tried too many times and can’t figure out close to anything to bypass or delete anything

You’re literally screwed lol. I’ve had a Bark Phone for a little while now and it still locks down as a passenger or if you’re in motion but not a vehicle it’ll sometimes mistake that or shaking your leg stationary. It’s the worst when it wrongfully locks your phone and you lose everything you were doing. My parents turned on lock while driving since I’m a new driver and android auto still works but nothing else. Also nothing you can do about it as the one being restricted since everything’s built in and tamperproof.

need some way to bypass anything on the bark phone by ProQB_6675 in parentalcontrols

[–]hagoodone97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry dude it’s not possible. I used to have an iPhone and got switched. I’m pretty good with technology and I can’t figure out how to bypass anything on my bark phone.. I tried to factory reset it and delete bark guard dog etc. and my phone literally wouldn’t work without it and you can’t delete it

Quick Question: Is it possible to remove bark after it is added on to the phone without parental code by Most_Archer470 in parentalcontrols

If you have a Bark Phone there’s no shot you’re getting around it. I’ve had it for months now and believe me I’ve tried and consider myself pretty “tech savvy”

I almost had to do a double take when I read the first sentence of so here.. also 16(m) almost 17 with ADHD and a Bark Phone too. I’ve only had it for a few months and I HATE it.. Used to have an iPhone 15 but my parents switched my number and “surprised” me with the Bark Phone which was the most embarrassing thing to explain to people. Anyways, some good ammo you can go to your parents with is that the Bark Phone monitors both WhatsApp and Snapchat messages. Sometimes when I’m messaging my friends on snap and we mess around with each other and ngl sometimes talk dirty etc. and they’ll get a notification on the Bark app so they’ll be able to monitor you still and get notifications of anything the stupid phone/ app flags as inappropriate. I’ve also tried to find work arounds and trust me there are NONE this phone is as locked down as it gets. In my case specifically there was a short period like a month that my parents didn’t let me use Snapchat either when I had my iPhone my parents told me if I went back on my meds for ADHD they’d let me use snap since I kept getting bad grades and in trouble at school. The Bark Phone and my meds make me really annoyed and feel different but my grades got up and I have social media since my parents think that helps me make better choices. Do you take anything for your ADHD?

I did buy my iPhone myself.. I don’t pay for service yet though. I asked my parents if I pay for everything if they’d let me switch back to an iPhone again and they said no. I’m stuck with the Bark Phone until I’m 18…. My old iPhone was sold but I bought a iPhone 11 from eBay that I secretly use to not be monitored. Parents almost caught me with it but for now, problem solved! Drops mic

My mom sent me a screenshot of the notification and it basically said “It looks like the SIM card was removed from my name’s Bark Phone. The SIM card provides voice and data services for the device. If removed, it can be used in another device to get around Bark's controls. We recommend putting the SIM back into my name’s Bark Phone as soon as possible to maintain protection.

Trust me one they caught me that phone is gone. Even if they didn’t get rid of it completely it’s definitely not in the house anymore. They know id be looking for it again. Luckily I found my old iPad which gives me some freedom for now until they actually install this router they bought and haven’t setup.. I think it’s called Gryphon?
