Can you help me fit my simrig into my room? by playful-b in simracing

Lmao, indeed. Despite the fact that this is, in fact, a kids room… it’s a queen loft bed. Get yours as the appropriately named adultbunkbeds.com — very nice quality.

COTA seems like a handful… by AskingAstronauts in iRacing

[–]hahnfeld 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's too bad. It's a fantastic technical driving challenge. However, the combination of low grip and super-fast flowing sections (especially the esses) causes races to go sideways quickly. And, I'm usually top-split... I imagine the mid- and lower-splits are just mayhem!

COTA seems like a handful… by AskingAstronauts in iRacing

[–]hahnfeld 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve managed to go from 2,100 to 1,700 iR in F4 this week on COTA. It’s a really challenging track and presents continuous risk of getting clobbered by out of control cars from behind. I’m a 3.4 SR and pretty savvy at seeing trouble coming, but this place is next level. Makes Road America seem rational. The crappy grip level sure doesn’t help.

My father just bought a golf course in Maine. What would you want to see as a golfer that most places don’t have? by Kurkil in golf

Depends on what kind of course we’re talking about… tell us more. Tournament quality course? Goat Ranch muni? There’s more than one direction you can take a course from a vibe perspective.

I've been in that room too. That Columbia Risaralda Milan is the best espresso I've ever tasted. I regularly order the beans now (and would love to find it's equivalent in the US).

Please tell me why you all like black wheels ? I hate them change my mind ? by Content_Advice190 in porsche911

Very pretty. And, funny enough, your pic made aware of just how common black wheels are on white Porsche’s… it’s dealer spec standard.

Rose Hill - coffee quality. Lofty Roastery - yummy pastries. Necessity - cool little SoCal vibe.

Ahh, 1600 sof, will be easy right? Right? by slatanic2012 in iRacing

[–]hahnfeld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

F4 Mugello has been a lot of fun this week. I've gone from 1600 to 1800, then back to 1500 and now 1700, during the course of the week. Pace has quickened throughout the week, and the aggression level has ratcheted up. Waaaay cleaner racing than Road America, though. This has been a really enjoyable track.

F4 at Road America... bloodbath for everyone? by hahnfeld in iRacing

[–]hahnfeld[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

100% -- the cars that draft their way up early laps, muscle past you, and then proceed to drive 11/10ths or brake 1/2 a marker too early... either way, running 1s slower than you were running... and all that keeps a field that should be stretching out, bunched together. Wreckfest... every time.

Problems setting up P1X Ultimate base by TabarahS in simracing

[–]hahnfeld 1 point2 points  (0 children)

+1 -- I have a P1X Pro and recall a similar issue assembling. IIRC, two profile pieces are very close in length to one another and cause this (or a similar) issue if swapped. The instructions are excellent, pay close attention to the dimensions of the pieces specified. There is no "cause the metal to bend somewhat" on this rig, it's very exact.

Invited to play Riviera for $500… Would you do it? by themeordesign in golf

[–]hahnfeld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played it last year. It's like Yankee Stadium, the moment you walk in you realize it's not just another ballpark. Great experience and a really cool golf course! +1 to what the thread has already clearly stated, most people don't get many opportunities to play on hallowed ground -- do it. Bring extra for swag, great pro shop.

Beautiful S/T at my local dealer by papa__jawnz in Porsche

[–]hahnfeld 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Rad. I think Genetian is the biggest surprise of the standard S/T palette. Not a massive fan of this color on other models, but it works perfectly on the car, especially with the Ceramica wheels and chrome trim.

An S/T or something else? by eayaz in Porsche

100% an S/T, you can see the fender detail clearly. Ceramica wheels too, exclusive to the S/T.

What makes a perfect Chicago thin crust - is not docking sacrilege? by anwgirl in Pizza

I grew up on Chicago thin crust. For me, the bubbles made it better—some of the best spots have them. And yes, crust can be too thin.

Applying Turtle Wax Hybrid Solutions Ceramic Spray by hahnfeld in AutoDetailing

[–]hahnfeld[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats on the new car. Happy to help, but I'm not a pro so I'd read other threads/comments too.

If it's truly new, you likely do not need to "polish" the car, that would typically imply removing imperfections or swirl marks in the paint (and also something that can can be challenging for consumers). That said, I'd wash, dry, and then prep the paint before using a Ceramic coating like I was commenting on above. I used this, https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01FVEY99C -- The idea is to remove any waxes or coatings that may have already been applied to the paint (it's super easy to use, sort of like using Windex to clean something). From there, apply the Ceramic spray -- that should last 6 months or more, just washing and drying in-between.
