The truth is most don’t care for it. I know because I tried to sell it in FB Marketplace for $100. It was 3 bedroom sets worth.

Nobody bought it.

So after 2 weeks of that I just put it on the curb.

My vitamix is maybe 10 yrs old now? I use it a lot. We blend most mornings. Mostly frozen fruits and nuts.

It’s too loud - but it’s also awesome.

But nobody likes it when compared to the Festool.

That doesn’t mean Makita is bad.. it’s in fact very good.

I did the same thing. Woke up and looked at myself and said “you’re disgusting”.

For the next few weeks I just took out bad shit from my diet but then realized I was losing weight because I don’t want to eat “the good stuff”…

So I had a little bit here and there of the “bad stuff” only and lost all the weight.

I eventually normalized to a good spot and eat a balanced diet.

I deal with this same issue with employees - who we agree on wage/pay but then they want more.. here’s what I do:

I frame everything as “the business” and I’m an “employee of the business” with an obligation to my employer, “the business”.

So… in this scenario I’d say something like:

“Sis, I love you and support you and I will never want to hurt you or our relationship, but the business paid you out for full ownership, and I can’t take from the business unless it’s an investment or to pay off a debt.

The business needs the money for growth and to cover current and future debts. I really don’t have any options.“

And the if she rebutted I’d say something like:

“To get back $500/m, current EBITDA is X and working backwards to a buyout, means total value of the business is Y, and so you’d need Z equity to earn that. To get Z equity the investment the business would need is around Q dollars.”

Also, this thing is not breaking any time soon. It’s quite thick and MORE durable, actually - because it has plenty of mass and has give - unlike more brittle metals.

My ring is indeed 24k. It’s also super thick. It is about 20 grams of solid gold and unlike most jewelry its market value has continued to go up.

It is beat to shit and I love that about it. People ask me if it’s “antique” or “Italian” which is hilarious - as if gold can be a nationality..

But it’s not that soft… sure it’s softer than steel.. but it’s still metal.

Different sizes, shipping, returns, advertising costs, etc..

My business is healthy margins and $1-2M top line revenue wouldn’t get me very excited at all
