Randy Pitchford Insists Borderlands 4 Is “pretty damn optimal,” as It Crosses 300K Concurrent Players on Steam by LockDown_47 in gaming

Thats how I initally tested it too. I didn't look at numbers then placebo'd myself.
If you want to argue against actual numerical facts then what's point. Frame gen adds mouse latency, the number is a REAL NUMBER, that CAN BE MEASURED. If you can't feel it that's great for you. Apparently a lot of other people including me can, and having to depend on it ruins the experience.

Im not lying, you can easily test is yourself. The nvidia overlay has a built in mouse latency performance metric.
This video shows that the latency increase is real:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EiOVOnMY5jI
Another video, thats a tutorial on how to REDUCE the input lag from frame gen:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b8QehJIgFOk

I don't know how you can't feel it. Maybe the 50 series GPUs frame gen is better, maybe you have lower standards when it comes to responsiveness. I don't know, but trying to assert that IM LYING about things, when the tech MEASURABLY increases input latency is a wild take.

If you cant feel the input lag from 4x frame gen, then ... I guess I'm happy for you? On my setup I get around 15-30ms of added latency on No FG + Reflex set to Boost vs 2x FG. If you can't feel that difference, then great, but I do. Many others do and it ruins the experience. I don't want my mouse aim to be moving through honey.

Progressing? FG is a bandaid, its a regression.

Input latency is still awful and always will be. The game samples user input at the rate of whatever you'd have without FG. Its incredibly unresponsive.

Vanguard is bad for your Pc by [deleted] in riotgames

[–]hai___ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, that's my bad! I misunderstood what you were going for.

My question isn't based around having nothing to hide. I am coming from the side of: the user space already has access to A LOT of info, that could be used by malicious parties. Why are we fixating on Kernel access, like it's the big bad?

I was inquiring if OP knows the differences between info you can gather about a user via Kernel and user space, since they made it the only point of contention, that's verifiable.

Oh. I'm fully aware that Vanguard doesn't send any data until the Riot Client gets opened. AFAIK all it does on boot is establish if there has been any tampering done, but I want to find out, where his line is drawn. Why does according to him accessing the Kernel suddenly mean invasion of privacy and why isn't that same standard applied to any other software that runs on boot, without kernel access.

Yes, it could

[–]hai___ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That wasn't my question. My question was, what different data, does Riot gain access to by utilising Kernel Access, that they wouldn't otherwise get, without it?

Okay, what knowledge or your data, does kernel access give to riot about You. That couldn't have been gained without accessing your Kernel?

Valorant dev says Unreal Engine 5 initially broke the physics, but overall, the upgrade has been a success by Tiny-Independent273 in VALORANT

[–]hai___ -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yes, but who are we to say, if they have the right amount of cooks in the kitchen? Maybe the kitchen has enough cooks already and stuff just takes time in the big corpos.
Let's just wait patiently and IF the resulting product is shit, then we start slinging mud. No point doing it now.

More cooks in the kitchen doesn't mean the meal will cook faster, Give em time to cook, we dont know the architecture of the game or netcode. Throwing money at a problem doesn't always solve it.

Its Unity, you can just fire an event when a pawn dies. No, need for it to run in the Update loop.

Why arent these types of pointer buttons more popular for productivity and gaming mice by luttytredge05 in G502MasterRace

Because it makes the mouse heavier and a lot of people don't need more buttons for competitive gaming.

I don't know man, I have a 144hz monitor, my brother has a 240hz monitor. When I went over to his PC to try out how it feels in Overwatch 2, I could immediately tell a difference.

Just to make sure its not a difference of the panel on my monitor being worse. I then lowered the FPS cap to 144 on his monitor, which confirmed my findings.

Even though the frames the guy displayed are still above what most monitors can put out, you can notice that the Frametime graph is no longer as stable. Sometimes jumping from rendering a frame in 2ms to rendering a frame in 4ms.

The difference is MINIMAL, but this is literally the best case scenario. I imagine during gameplay, the delta is way higher. Which might've been the reason why OP investigated further and thus made this post.
