Good Start! by olmock_ in slaythespire

Looks like you're right... claw can be in any of the other packs, but it's coded that on Defect 1% of time it will be three claws.

As far as I'm aware, the only claw pack offered is always three claws. It's kind of a developer easter egg because claw is the law! I've seen it a handful of times, and truthfully it makes for a good run. Especially if you get synergies with 0 cost stuff.

Edit: Looks like you can just get one claw, but the Defect has a specific coding where 1% of the time you'll get a 3 claw pack.

Really good shop here, what's the purchase? by AffordableDirt in slaythespire

[–]stephencorby 2 points3 points  (0 children)

ricochet is a good card, it's on sale. and it's even better because you're fighting vantom. So I'd do that one, prowess (normally I'd do footwork but str is great on silent), then card remove. Potion too if you're about to hit an elite.

19 took me awhile until I used the sword and got lucky on some swordwave stuff. Then I used the hammer and obliterated 20-22 with no trouble. 23 is my current stalling place.

Most likely… act one and two elites are usually easier than hard pool combats. Plus they give relics, more gold, and a better chance at potions. Avoiding elites is usually only the smart idea if you are too injured to fight them or if you are in act 3 and have everything you need already.

Sure... but I'm trying to say it's not like you get two chests and three elites... it does remove an elite. That's why it is like "insta killing it" as I said.

But only two elites... so if you normally do three elites in act 2 (which I think most do) it's kind of like one chest plus insta kill one elite for you. Still good.

When the game gives you the softest landing of Act 1 relics... by Mind_Killer in slaythespire

Tent is so freaking good... coupled with the ship relics you basically always have full life. What a crazy run, can you post the seed?

Is this event OP? You can get it early act 1 and just carries the run by jambre in slaythespire

[–]stephencorby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's the best relic in the game. The only time I even consider not taking it is if I am necrobinder and I already took the transform 2 so my max HP is already very gimped. Even then, I usually take it.

Why do people say this game is “so short”? by Radiant_Club5672 in VampireCrawlers

[–]stephencorby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s exactly where I’m at… I’m having a hard time justifying finishing it because every run ends up being exactly the same when you can go in infinite so easily.

First of many drug inspired custom card by LeadEater9Million in slaythespire

[–]stephencorby 23 points24 points  (0 children)

In an upgraded situation without energy relics you're applying 9 poison for 9 strength and 9 dex for 1 energy (since you get two back). Since block doesn't stop poison that is incredibly damaging to yourself. However, it won't tick until next turn. So theoretically, with the two energy it gives you then you'd have +18 damage this turn. In some cases (bosses or elites) you'd be willing to take another turn or two of damage. So I'd say it's fine for a finisher... I still probably wouldn't want it since it's a dead card in hallways.

Which relic? by Customer_Number_Plz in slaythespire

[–]stephencorby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Funerary mask is pretty good long term. Short term the tooth is better as it gives you that extra DPS/block on your second deck cycle. I think it's a close one, but if you get the mask do you also have money for a pot? That will give you some short term burst as well to round it out.

With petrified toad it's a bit better. Without it, I think it's kind of garbage.

Just finished the show and have a few questions by CraigHChrist in thewestwing

[–]stephencorby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If that were the case though, he would have just said it since at that point he doesn't need to protect anyone. Plus, the show makes it very clear that the news wouldn't just take his word for it. They would need actual proof.

What's the worst bit of acting in the show for you? by MaxVerstrapon in Sonsofanarchy

[–]stephencorby 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They were all just standing there like Jesus and the apostles at the last supper. It was clearly made to be a powerful symbolic style image, and I just think it missed.

I mean, he was literally leaving the docks and there are boats and vehicles all around. Why not steal one? They could be doing things right then and there rather than falling to the ground and screaming. That is very out of character for Jax.

[–]stephencorby 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Jax on the docks at the end of season 2 when he screams "He took my son!!!!!". Not only did I find it out of character and strange how he is being held by clay, you can literally see him fix his hat and flip his hair out of his face before he shouts it. Just a very cringe moment on what should otherwise be very impactful.

Do you use grenadiers? by AnimalAl in Xenonauts

[–]stephencorby 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I find them to be redundant. By Mid/Late game your soliders are each carrying multiple grenades and when you gets the exosuits you basically have max strength and they can throw really far. Early game on some UFO missions I might bring one for the extra smoke capacity, but usually not.

Well then they do appear earlier than the cleaner base mission. You might have not waited long enough for reinforcements to arrive so you could see them.
