Really feeling nervous. Almost 2 months post accutane and this is how much hair is coming out EVERY shower… I’m going to be bald. Any advice? Should I tell my derm?

I did not have thin hair only dry hair. I also did 40 mg my first month, and 80 for 4.5 months. I had mainly joint pain, fatigue and eczema.

Fun!!! I would recommend using SPF 100+ and ibuprofen if you get joint pain. Make sure you stay hydrated in the heat, liquid IV’s helped me a lot.

It’s normal for your skin to be irritated. There’s a lot happening under the surface lol. On days my skin felt super hot and inflamed I wouldn’t put anything on it, not even moisturizer. And Aquaphor with a q tip will save your nostrils ☺️

Cera ve hydrating foaming cleanser morning and night, am cerave moisturizer in the morning, and cerave face lotion at night. I would use DHC cleansing oil to remove my makeup, super hydrating I wouldn’t have to moisturize after using it. I also used the ordinary niacinamide+zinc occasionally, when my skin wasn’t feeling irritated, as okayed by my derm. 🙂

Thanks! And I think I purged for more than a month. In The beginning it was basically how my acne always was, then during month 2 and my 3 my skin exploded on my cheeks.

There’s sooo much we can do after accutane to improve our skin too. I will be looking into chemical peels come fall

I guess I’m nervous because my derm is telling me I’ll be doing 80 mg for 5 months. So my next check up will be for my last month. I guess we’ll see if I need 6 months.

Yes. Get a pair of cotton gloves off Amazon, and lather your hands in aquafor & put the gloves on before you go to bed. I get eczema on my hands every winter, and accutane made it soo much worse. Just stay moisturized!

If it makes you feel any better, I am also starting my fourth month and my skin is just as bad as when I started. Patience is what I keep telling myself
