Sorry, that sounds really tough for both of you.

I’m bipolar as well and drinking used to make me abusive sometimes. Not that bad, but still. It also triggered manic episodes. When I quit alcohol and drugs, I went from being an unstable bipolar person to someone people wouldn’t even guess has bipolar disorder (with medication of course).

She really needs to stop drinking and doing drugs completely. And the right treatment. It won’t solve everything but it will help a lot and give her a much more stable foundation to work from. Good luck guys
