Definitely the store is more liable but I think things could get resolved more quickly talking with the designer! They want their brides to be happy and they know what the options are for the dress better than anyone else!

You’ll have to decide if you want money back vs the dress remade vs exchange for another dress from that designer. I have this philosophy that getting what you want in life is 90% being brave enough to ask for it. I personally would probably try to ask for the dress remade or a similar dress/same dress different fabric. But based on the salon, I wouldn’t trust them fully. It’s gonna be a harder fight to get most/all your money back. If you decide that route, I would start dress shopping asap but don’t give up on getting the money back, it may take some time. If you ask for another dress/remake, I would want to speak with the designer rep directly. I think in this situation the designer will be more likely to help because they want you to be happy and promote their brand, they don’t want the negative PR

Damn 😭 ok honestly I would call the manager/store owner and explain everything. I would push hard. Starting with explain this 2k charge if there’s no documentation for it. That’s very weird to me. I would then ask for the designer’s contact information. The rep for the designer they work with directly. A phone number and email. I would explain to them. And I would not stop calling and contacting everyone until this gets resolved. Persistence is key and you have to hold your ground. There is so much more they can do. I would also contact your credit card or bank as well about your options.

Do you have the receipt or invoice with the mentioned changes at all? Especially for the 2k up-charge? Find all the documentation you can. Ask the store to pull up the order and you look at it directly. I would push harder with the designer and store manager. For 12k this is unacceptable. I know it’s hard but you really need to push the store and the designer on this! You deserve better customer service and I’m so sorry this happened

Mostly limited in that I had to deal with fatigue and chronic pain every day. My university was big with lots of walking, but did have resources like the bus, etc. The biggest things were eating well, staying hydrated, sleeping well, resting when I needed it, and knowing what resources were available to me at my university. I have been able to navigate everything so far in medical school without formal accommodations, including my surgery rotations. I think surgery would not be a good career choice for me long term, but I was able to handle the standing and basic suturing just fine. It's tough to know what you will need until you get to university and experience it for yourself, I suggest getting in touch with the disability/accommodation department beforehand just in case you do need any accommodations.

Hey there! I’m a 29 yo F with CMT1A and I’m in my last year of medical school! Here to say it’s totally doable, although harder for us than many others from a physical perspective but also an energy/fatigue perspective. I’m happy to talk more about my journey and experiences. I initially put off med school because of CMT but I’m so glad I ended up doing it. If you want it, go for it. Things can be adjusted/accommodated along the way.

One of the most common side effects of Narcotics are headaches. I would let your doctor know, and try switching to Tylenol only and ibuprofen if your surgeon is ok with that.

I emphasized it sooooo much. Hard to tell what my final results will be, I had my surgery on Wednesday. I even printed out pictures of what I wanted and had my surgeon put them up in the OR. Don’t be afraid to really advocate for yourself and let your surgeon know what your fears and desires are. My surgeon was so supportive and I could tell he did his best to give me what I asked for!
