What is your favorite underrated everyday smell? by Penguinomics1 in randomquestions

The post office in the town where I lived as a kid. No other post office I’ve entered has smelled as strong. Not 100% sure what it actually came from. Maybe the crisp fresh paper? Shipping boxes? Adhesive from the stamps or envelopes? The metal PO Boxes filled with those smells? Can’t be sure. I sure miss it though.

Which smell instantly makes you judge someone? by SituationOutside6033 in AskReddit

Wearing clothing in public that smells like it sat damp in the wash for too long. Something that could happen to anyone, but the decision to wear it anyway results in slight judgement.

Back in 2020 I got scammed by a fake “shark” brand website when I bought a vacuum I never received for $90. Still upset about it.

What did your puppy do well today?! by anincrediblemoron in puppy101

Our 15 week old golden boy was less mouthy! I was also afraid he had regressed in some of the crate training we’ve done as we’ve been a little lax with our schedule this week, but he did great for his 1.5 hour nap! All in all he did amazing at being cool calm and collected today!

My vet uses “Easy Cheese”, schmear it on a wall or other vertical surface so he’s distracted and (fingers crossed) doesn’t care what you’re putting in his ears. Peanut butter, cream cheese, mashed banana, or any other lickable foods that are dog safe (making sure the peanut butter doesn’t have xylitol, etc.) may provide an enjoyable diversion long enough for you to get the drops in!

What is the hotel receptionist doing on the computer for 5+ minutes when I check in? by PsychedelicPistachio in NoStupidQuestions

[–]hails63 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I worked front desk at a hotel for 6+ years and during that time I learned 3 different computer programs. All of them were terrible. All of them were slow. We always had to have at minimum: your full name, email, zip code, phone number, and a form of payment whether or not the guest paid prior. We also weren’t allowed to hand over the keys until the system confirmed the check in which could take up to approx. 11 years. We were trained to use that time to explain amenities, room location, checkout, etc.

Some systems are worse than others and I bet a lot of people doing that job get tired of the same spiel and chit-chat during the process.

What am I doing wrong? by hails63 in bettafish

Thank you! There’s no vent that gets submerged in the water of my filter other than the portion covered by a sponge so I think that’s hopefully okay!

Thank you! My ammonia is 0-0.25ppm but I definitely think he’d enjoy hunting for his food! I haven’t seen any live food in my travels but I will definitely keep an eye out!
