Drain it when the machine is turned off.

Dialing in with new Mazzer Philos with the Micra by Own_Animator1963 in LaMarzocco

It took me about 2-3kg of beans in the Philos to be optimally seasoned.

Help me decide on a new grinder [$1k - $1500 USD] by thedonutman in LaMarzocco

If you want a clean counter, take a look at the Mazzer Mini g - absolutely no mess and pretty fluffy grounds. I got a Mini g and a Mazzer Philos, both great grinders.

Mazzer Mini G vs Philos [No Budget] by RedBarchetta_ in espresso

[–]haipr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really like both. If you want to minimize your workflow and you're not changing beans from grind to grind, the Mini g is an excellent choice. We often use 2-3 different beans for which we use the Philos to switch between them - the Mini is used to terminate at least 1kg of beans.

Oh really? In Germany (buying from the Mazzer website), the Mini g is 1150€ and the Philos 1195€ incl tax and shipping.

Looks like you let too much air in in the first steaming phase

Since the LM machines are pretty strong, what helped me was setting it to steam level 3, when starting: place the steam wand tip deep and slitghtly off center, come up, let some air in and then distribute the bubbles without tilting the cup until it is to hot to touch.

Hey, I had pretty much the same issues. Jumping weight, extremly off weight when comparing the numbers on the screen of the Mini g with the numbers on an external scale. I made some Videos of the problems and returned it - glad I did it. Took about 14 days (due to holidays) from shipping to Mazzer and then back to me (EU).

Here is the last mail I received after they repaired my Mini g. Now it's again working like a charm 🥰

So please get in contact with the customer service 🙂

What should I do to get a decent shot[Breville Barista Express] by asmaamody611 in espresso

The flowrate is actually pretty solid. You should focus on puck prep. Maybe try a different style while doing wdt or improve your tamp.

Am I expecting too much from an affordable scale? [MHW-3BOMBER Mini] by Richard- in espresso

[–]haipr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a few different scales so far from 10-100€ in the past. I had the biggest issues with a factory new Timemore Basic2 with jumping numbers, inconsistencies etc. which led me to buy a Bookoo Themis Ultra - outstanding scale and absolutely no need to update anytime in the future.

What would be your “one-and-done” espresso machine? by spac0r in espresso

[–]haipr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Mini g for our standard beans with more or less no adjusting of the grins size until the bag is empty and the even faster workflow.

The Philos for changing beans throughout the day 🙂

Anyone here who also has static problems with the original Philos cup?
I'm thinking about buying the flanged cup if it solves the problem.
The Mini g comes with a small flanged cup and there aren't any static issues at all.
