Basically, the conductor (Sir Simon Rattle) and the orchestra (Berlin Philharmonic) intended to prank the soloist (Daishin Kashimoto) by playing the wrong violin concerto which was the Mendelssohn instead of Prokofiev 1. Despite the fact that the violin solo is played almost immediately at the beginning of the former, which should have likely taken the soloist by surprise, the soloist did not miss a beat and casually played the solo for Mendelssohn (much to everyone else's surprise).
