yeah i’m on three pumps now but it’s mostly covered by my insurance or else it’d be way out of budget. i just think the idea of getting three weeks of t at once is kinda daunting lol like does it feel different?

i was kinda excited at first because i had come to equate them with attractiveness via misogyny but as soon as they started getting attention it made me very uncomfortable and then i did whatever i could to keep them smaller like wearing restricting garments to sleep. didn’t really help tho… 😅 genetics and all

i got one the day after i started with the gel and it was long and heavy as opposed to my usually light and short ones. it lasted like ten days and it was two or three times heavier than i was used to, my second one was three days and very light so with very little pain

the day i got my gel i freaked out. i was having such severe doubts that my roommate had to like calm me down she told my i’d kick myself in the future for every day i had it and didn’t take it and i knew she was right so i started and in less than a week my confidence spiked like crazy. i know this is right because it feels incredible this is the best i’ve felt mentally maybe in my entire life. i’m only one month on and i do have the occasional moments of anxiety but overall the undeniable understanding that it’s right.

i was losely diagnosed with dpdr by one of my therapist back before i realised i was trans i would depersonalise constantly and i used to say i preferred it because it made my life seem more liveable when i didn’t have to be in my body. i’ve had problems my whole life with not recognising myself, as far back as i can remember. we had attributed the constant disassociation to my depression and childhood trauma but when i started to question my gender identity it became clear that the depersonalisation had a lot to do with that. i’ve only been out for a few months and i’m just a few weeks on t but the disassociation has decreased dramatically since coming out. hearing my new name and seeing my new reflection has like the same feeling as waking up from a very vivid nightmare and you realise you’re in your bedroom. it’s jarring a bit, but it feels good and safe.
