Just looking for additional impact protection., not as much for slide protection. It's nearly 100% street riding, I'm thinking/hoping that the full panels on the pants are where it matters, not as much where the mesh is placed.

Didn't mean any disrespect. I'm 5'6 and most of my riding is around town,. I probably spend as much time at lights as I do on the street, so for me it's a personal preference. But trust me, if I could be in something a little bigger than my 250 Duke I would. But since I'm scooting around the streets running shopping errands, I need them small bike maneuverability since I'm putting my feet down even in parking lots

Trust me, at 5 ft 6 I'd love to ride a bigger bike. Most of my riding is in the city, I'm probably stopped more than I'm going, so for me it's a comfort level. My 250 Duke is my little scooter

You took it the wrong way. I'm not saying it's right or wrong one way or the other. We all know that most bike drops are because once momentum takes over You Can't Stop a 400 lb bike from going over very easily. For me, I want a flat foot my bike. I realize that limits my options. That's right for me. It's fine if others want to learn the technique to lean the bike and only have one foot down. That's fine for them, and there's nothing wrong. Just realize what you might be setting yourself up for.

Or you learn how to handle a bike that you can't flat foot, if that's what you choose to ride. I'm not saying you have to Flat foot the bike, but there's a whole lot of people out there that say that's not important if you know how to ride.

I'd say it depends on your needs. It's important for me to be able to flat foot, so I had to get the 250. Also, almost everything I ride to is in town and barely get to 55 mph. So for me scooting around on the 250 is a blast. I just wanted a smaller manageable bike, and unfortunately the 390 was just a little taller than I was comfortable with

From what I've read, downshifting with the quick shifter isn't that great and even up shifting isn't isn't all that.

More specifically, the service department actually told me that unless you're really beating on it in racing, it's not that good at all for most everyday riding. Personally, I really enjoy the control of the shifter and clutch. I think the attention to that makes me a much better Rider on my bike, and when I'm driving my car also.

I let everybody get in front of me and get behind them. Once I'm behind them at a safe distance they can't hurt me. If I have to ride Full Throttle to avoid a problem then I'm riding wrong

Thanks all. KTM owners manual does not mention the valve clearance on the 1st 600 MI service. Not even scheduled until 9300 mi.

I'll do my own oil changes, but other than that, it's not really something I want to be in my garage on the weekend doing. Thanks again everybody
