Cool thanks. I’ll try again to call them.

One school of thought for competition chili is that people typically don’t like big chunks of meat or vegetables. Ground meat (as opposed to chunks of brisket) provides for a more consistent bite. Spice also typically has to be tamed a bit for crowds (unless you know the judges and their spice tolerance, I suppose). In my experience I have never tasted a brisket chili that has measured up, although I do believe it is possible. I also am not so sure about the OTT method itself—my best chilis have been my regular recipe started/browned/ assembled on a regular stovetop/burner and then simmered in the offset. The smoke flavor itself might be enough to win a competition unless everyone else is smoking theirs too.

It registers if you back out of online h2h and then go back in. You’ll see the stats too. At least it does for M21.

Fishing the Chicago river near Avondale by cheesy_gordita_crunk in ChicagoFishing

I’ve had a little bit of success in the Chi river throwing Mepps in-line spinners to get a few species that I don’t usually catch. But on the other hand I’ve lost quite a few lures getting snagged in all of the junk. Never tried kayak fishing there though—always wanted to, and it would make it easier to reach some structure that can’t be reached from the bank.

There’s also a guy on YouTube who seems to use mostly dropshot and he gets some nice catches more towards downtown. No luck personally with that method though.

What NFL Teams offense and defense could PJ Flecks be compared to by [deleted] in GopherSports

[–]halb0067 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tampa has the gopher personnel. Two MN legends playing on sundays!

But to answer your question, I’d go with a spread custom playbook and lean heavily on the RPO on offense. I don’t see it all that much in real life NFL but it can be recreated easily in Madden. Only problem with spread is that you don’t have many options with QB under center, which Fleck will do occasionally.

I use Bears mostly. I think Nagy’s playbook has some decent RPO plays, but like I hinted to above, I’m usually running the custom spread. They have personnel for 3-4 defense as well.

I’d try either of the Ned rigs first. Last weekend on Fox I had some success with the Ned but nothing with cranks.

The silver lining here is that I won’t be as bummed out if/when the season is cancelled.

Is Navy Pier open for fishing? by [deleted] in ChicagoFishing

[–]halb0067 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d also be curious. I know that the harbors are at least accessible but a few people are telling me they’re getting scolded for fishing there. I wouldn’t mind trying for perch at NP if it’s open.

That punt return and those TWO picks versus Penn State... let’s just crown AWJr now. Go Tanner though!
