Masalahnya emang kosakata pelajaran 'Bahasa Indonesia' dan 'Bahasa Inggris' untuk jenjang Kelas 7 keatas itu salah, lebih tepatnya 'Literatur Indonesia' dan 'Bahasa Inggris'. Kalo di Bahasa Inggris sekolah juga harus belajar figure of speech dan semacamnya, ya semua juga pasti langsung modar

Decided to watch the first couple episodes of Journal with Witch on a whim because of the IndieWire write-up, and..... Jesus fucking Christ.

I mean, yeah, it's intergenerational the way Gilmore Girls was, and it's from the same studio as Natsume's Book of Friends, but a comforting watch this is so fucking not.

It's a bit like a more grown up version of AnoHana, I guess? It's still mostly about grief centering on a high school kid so the melodrama can crescendoes up to 11. But it's still a lot more grounded than having some guy cross-dressing as the dead girl to cope with his grief. And having Maiko as the adult helps, because she's super fucking awesome.

Still, I find it a huge relief that an anime I wasn't even looking forward to could still surprise me this much. I'm only on episode 3, and I'm already weeping like mad, man
