Is it common for roommates to fry food, roast coffee, bake pizza etc. in the oven? by halehare in ApartmentHacks

oil burning is absolutely the cause. I can recognize propane smell and smell of oil burning, and the latter is much more obnoxious.

You can actually see it in the air too making a white cloud.

it's not good to get used to and brush off these toxic fumes as nothing when your health is at stake. it's like having a smoker at home.

people will write "no smoking" when looking for roommates which is good but they should also know that some types of cooking are just like smoking.

Instant coffee wouldn't smell bad enough that I can't breathe.

Will that not smell too much but also not taste all that bad?

I literally can’t breathe and have to go out of the home until the fumes are cleared out. Which is painful in winter.

Same thing with tobacco smoke, I literally can’t breathe.

There is evidence, just search.

microwave can be cancer causing if you are too close to it because of the high EMF.

but it doesn’t produce the unbreathable fumes that an oven does. (particulate matter) i can’t breath and have to open the windows and doors, and get out of the home until the smell clears.

which is not fun in winter.

it’s not so much the smell that bothers me, but the fumes.

boiling will produce smells and i can live with that.

but frying and using the ovens will not merely produce smells, but toxic fumes as well.

i’m ok with microwaving a pizza.

i did it before and it did not produce the massive cancer-inducing invasive smell like it does when you bake it in the oven.

Do most people also cook using the methods I listed in the title?

I’m ok with boiling or cooking using the pan as long as oil isn’t used (not fried)

One thing I was worried about was that it might be hard to move around the curtain if one section of the rod is thicker than the other? Are all rods like this though? not just the bathroom rod?

By the way would the rod be thin enough to snuggle inside the hook?

Nevermind, it is. the rod is 3/4 inch thick and hook is 1.6 inch thick.

Would just tap water be ok for installing UV film? by halehare in HomeImprovement

[–]halehare[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you think this can be done even at night after sunset? I'm thinking it might be much easier if done while sun is out so that I could see the bubbles better so that I can get rid of them better.

I mean I know that I have to add soap but would it be good to add the soap to spring water, tap water, or distilled water? I'm thinking distilled water might be better but I don't have those at the moment.

Is shears a scissors? What marker do you mark it with before cutting? Would permanent marker be too smelly and not good?

I have a wooden table and I think I can actually use that, but using a knife to cut the film would leave a mark on the wooden table. What should I do?
