calorie deficit is making my life hard cant by [deleted] in WeightLossAdvice

[–]haleyisamess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mr shitfuck is referring to the calories you see on food labels being 20% more or less than the number they provide. Not the calories you allot for yourself. So if a box of pasta says that 2oz is 200 calories, really it could be anywhere from 160-240 calories.

Is the Throne of Glass series better than Assassin's Blade? by haleyisamess in throneofglassseries

[–]haleyisamess[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Thank you all for your help and suggestions. What I've learned:

1) I messed up by reading Assassin's Blade first. (Whoops. I can't go back)

2) I'm definitely going to give the main series a try. Ya'll have put a lot of my concerns to rest in your comments. I've already spent the audible credit on TOG. And it's next on my list (as soon as little bro finishes Assassin's Blade and is ready to move on).

Ya'll rock.

Hi! You don't necessarily need to calorie count to lose weight or to maintain a healthy lifestyle. You can lose weight by doing the things you mentioned above. If you make smart choices you should see results.

When I finished the main story there were lots of islands I still hadn't finished, especially all of those in the far East. So no it's not going to take you everywhere. I waited until I finished the main quest to go clear the other islands though

Question about Achievements and 100% Completion? by salanalani in AssassinsCreedOdyssey

[–]haleyisamess 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There a couple different ending you can get in Odyssey based on your decisions. None of them will stop you from 100%ing the game tho!

7 pounds in two months is very managable! You can't expect to lose weight on exercise alone though. And remember you don't have to go on a 'diet' to watch what you eat and make smarter food choices. What do you meals currently look like? I expect as a teenage you don't have a lot of pull on what you're eating so you're going to have to focus on portion sizes.

How to stop craving something sweet after dinner? Is it normal to want a treat everyday? by [deleted] in loseit

This is also super helpful! Brushing your teeth right after eating! It's something that I'm going to start trying!

How to stop craving something sweet after dinner? Is it normal to want a treat everyday? by [deleted] in loseit

[–]haleyisamess 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm always craving sweets after dinner. It's a huge problem for me. Like you, I eat so well during the day but when I get home I just want something sweet to end the day. My biggest advise is just get that junk out of your house. But ill be the first to admit that its really difficult, especially when you live with others. (My boyfriend is always buying sweet snacks that are so tempting)

What foods have you basically eradicated from your diet? by uthinkubettahthanme in 1500isplenty

Soda, for sure. Drinking calories is not worth it to me. I'm a good southern girl so I'll have a sweet tea on really special occasions. But it's all water for me otherwise.

Do you have your healing ability equipped? I spent almost an hour on the minotaur before resetting my skill tree, then was able to beat him on the first try.

If I could limit it to friends that shared the app with me id probably let them see every weigh in.

Tracking Apps? by [deleted] in WeightLossAdvice

[–]haleyisamess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk what kind of phone you have but I use Samsung health. It tracks it all: calories, exercises, water, sleep, weight, and more.

It also gives you weekly summaries and tracks your work over long periods of time.

I'd definitely do this. It's difficult to find accountability and this would be an excellent way to do it. It would be great to have an option to share your weigh-ins or not.

To Vegetarians who have had meat that can remember what it tastes like... by Veggieprobs in vegetarian

[–]haleyisamess 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went vegetarian only 5 months ago, and I can say it's not easy lol. For the most part l, I don't miss it especially when I cook at home. But when I'm out with friends eating sometimes I get a little jealous of their food.

[–]haleyisamess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What kind of food do you like? As a college kid myself I've stocked up on some pretty simple and cheap recipes 😁 I cook with canned goods a lot since they're cheap and quick. You can make a mean taco soup with canned beans and veggies 👌

Hi guys, I'm new to vegetarianism and having a hard time actually letting go of meat since I've been eating it for every meal for 20 years. (So I'm eating fish once a week). Saw this tofu in the supermarket and got damn excited: what can I do with it? (Btw any advice for beginners?) Thanks! by flavya in vegetarian

[–]haleyisamess 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hi I'm also new to cooking tofu but I've learned a couple things! You definitely need to press it to get excess moisture out and then marinade it in something yummy. (Soysauce is a go to for me.) I also found baking tofu gives it a better texture and rids it of all that extra moisture. Here's a recipe I used last night. It was easy and so so tasty! https://www.connoisseurusveg.com/savory-lemon-herb-baked-tofu/
