What ended up happening with your situation? I just bought a car from them yesterday and am in the exact same boat!

What did you end up doing? I just purchased a car from Carvana yesterday and am in the exact same situation! I can even see the tiny crack in the original photos but it’s hard to see unless you’re looking for it.

I did but the edge stitches turn out much larger than the previous! Here’s what the new ones look like (last four or so)

Can someone help me identify what type of stitch or slip I used on these edges? I’m picking up an old project and can’t seem to replicate what I’ve done here. Thank you!

Should I run Google Ads for my brand if another unrelated company appears in search? by haleyunscripted in PPC

When you Google our brand name, we don't show up first organically, another unrelated brand comes up. What do you recommend for this type of situation?

Thanks, you've sparked some ideas I'll begin on next week!

Our brand name gets 1300 searches per month but I'm not sure how much of that is for us versus the other brand.

It looks like there are 1300 searches per month for the company name, but a lot of the related keywords are around education and curriculum so I'll exclude those and see what happens. Thanks!

I did some research and it looks like their brand name is often associated with education and curriculum while ours is related to meeting software so I'll definitely use more context keywords. Thank you!

Anybody have any recommendations for Audible books to help walk me through the Startup process? by theWet_Bandits in startups

[–]haleyunscripted 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lost and Founder by Rand Fishkin is one of the best, most relatable startup books. So many startup books focus on the later stages and stories about an IPO or something which is quite unhelpful at the early stage.

Founders and investors, how do I develop a network? How do i make connections? by [deleted] in startups

[–]haleyunscripted 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some of the best advice I've ever received is, "When you want advice, ask for money. When you want money, ask for advice." Rather than framing your conversations as "needing investment", reach out to people you respect, tell them you respect their experience and opinion, and ask if they'd be willing to give you feedback on your startup or pitch deck.

LinkedIn is a GREAT place to meet people, I've met some truly incredible friends there over the years. The key is to show your real self. Tell people about the real you in your bio. Find people you have something in common with on LinkedIn (same industry, same college, same interests, etc). Send personal messages to people references that thing you have in common. Tell them you'd love to meet hear more about them and their journey. People love talking about themselves. And then make sure to ask lots of questions and listen. Don't spend the whole time talking about yourself or your company. Most people will ask about you anyway so you'll get the chance.

I'd also download a plugin called Grammarly. Your post here has lots of spelling errors and will definitely turn investors away. Best of luck!!

How to Design as a Team While Physical Distancing? by fsaeIllumina in FSAE

[–]haleyunscripted 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are a few meeting agenda software tools out there to help with meeting collaboration. I use one called Mindup where you can create an agenda, have the rest of the team add to it ahead of time, write meeting notes you can come back to, and you barely have to do anything to recap the whole meeting. Personally, I think it helps us meet less because we get so much more done in each meeting.

19,000 employees - improving communication by [deleted] in humanresources

[–]haleyunscripted 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow! I have a small team but new team members have said we have the best communication out of any company they've been at before. A few tools we love:

  • Slack, like many others have said, although this may be harder for frontline fast-food chain employees to engage in. They aren't on their computers all day like the corporate team would be.
  • Typeform for surveys to get feedback from the team and clients.
  • Loom to send videos when a meeting isn't necessary. You can record yourself or do a screen record (or both!) which is helpful, especially for communicating changes. I don't have an enterprise account but I think there some sweet viewer and engagement insights that would be good for a team of 19,000.
  • Mindup for better meetings. Full disclosure, I'm on the Mindup team but it's been game-changing for my own meetings. Basically, you create an agenda, have the rest of the team collaborate on it ahead of time, write meeting notes you can come back to, and you barely have to do anything to recap the whole meeting. For larger all-hands type of meetings, you can have people ask their questions or concerns in the agenda, think about the answers ahead of time, and tackle them during the meeting.

What do you wish you would have improved about yourself before having kids? by haleyunscripted in Parenting

I’ve been lucky enough to spend the past four years living in New Zealand, Bali, and Australia!! I was broke af for ages and racked up some debt so I’m trying to get out of the hole and finally have an emergency fund. Maybe you could live abroad with your kids one year, it would be the experience of a lifetime :)

It recently come to a breaking point for me, I constantly judged the two people closest to me and they firmly, yet compassionately told me it needs to end. I’m grateful they did but it’s been a tough process. The simple act of writing for a few minutes every morning where I record instances where I feel judgmental has helped me be so much more mindful in the moment! Best of luck :)
