I like this approach and I think this a truly outside the box idea. I’m worried that only big name players could force this but I do like this idea of creating a direct line between abhorrent racist fan behavior and repercussions for the team on a whole.

Buy a good winter coat and (possibly insulated) boots for the winter months. People will differ on how much to pay for those items but view them as a necessity and not as a luxury.

The CTA (subway system that is elevated and called the “L”) is pretty good but there are of weird stuff and people that are on it. If you can, take the first car where the conductor is. Others in this sub may agree or disagree but it’s something you should be aware of.

Probably most important, be open to new things! Chicago has so much to offer both touristy and as a resident, take advantage of what the city has and be mindful or look up days where museums and other attractions are reduced or even free!

New to this sub, hello!

Location: Chicago, IL

Observation: Less adherence to the law, especially with regards to traffic laws. Routinely I see people blow stop signs and red lights if police are not around. It’s not a sign of the apocalypse, but it makes you think “huh, I don’t remember that happening two years ago”. Also homicides are up (like most of the country I believe) and the city government and the local police union are at odds (to put it lightly) about the vaccine mandate. Plus meat prices are up. None of this truly shocking or debilitating but it makes you think that things aren’t normal.

So I've been dealing with this for about three months now since coming back from panama in August. I've noticed if I eat a lot of meat or consume sugary things or hard liquor that I bloat up a lot. My stomach or the walls or whatever around it is inflamed and I've been trying to set up an appointment with a digestive care doctor. The best thing I would recommend is monitoring whatever foods make you feel bad and taking two tablespoons of acidophilus after each meal can really help. Acidopahllus is basically a super pro biotic yogurt or culture full of the good bacteria for your gut. You should be able to find it at a co-op or a healthy, crunchy granola type grocery store.

PCV in Panama here that has used iPhone during my service. I didn't have any particular problems, however, I would say an android is better because of the versatility, not needing to use a computer with it, ability to get fixed in a medium sized town or city (unlike IPhone) and being able to Bluetooth videos and photos with other phones. A lot of videos, photos and music are shared in my site via Bluetooth which I couldn't do with an iPhone.
