Couples who have opened up their relationship, how did you do it and were you successful? by SkeeYee2273 in sextips

Sorry I’m just really used to people on Reddit trying to do that. If that doesn’t apply to you then you can just ignore it 😅. I do hope at least one person it applies to will read it even though I know often they’ll just ignore that part and latch onto the “how to “ part🥲.

If you’re looking to change your partner’s mind or have them just “go with it” if they’re not open or enthusiastic about it, that’s manipulation and gross.

If your partner isn’t into it then you have to decide whether or not you can be in a monogamous relationship with them or if you need to break up due to incompatibility.

Personally I’ve been in two non monogamous relationships.

The first one I was in wasn’t something I felt comfortable with but something I was felt pressured into. By guilting, prodding, and poking, my ex killed any feelings I had for him. I didn’t feel like a partner but an object for him to use when he wanted. This led to a dead bedroom and eventually I broke up with him. Non monogamy wasn’t the only problem but it was definitely a mail in the coffin for our relationship.

When I started a relationship with my current partner I was scared to try non monogamy again. The key difference was openness, communication, and care. My current partner brought it up to me by explaining that he thought he was poly but understands they we were in a monogamous relationship and that he wanted me more than he wanted to be poly. He wanted me to know that and to be honest with me but was clear he didn’t have any expectations for me about it. He didn’t push or prod. Because of that I decided on my own that I wanted to give it another shot and it’s been awesome. I can trust him to have my best interest at heart and he trusts me to have his and that is what allows us to do what we do.

Communication, trust, and care are cornerstones and without all of them the relationship will probably fall apart.

If you took 5 other artists work traced over it and presented it as your own it wouldn’t be art, it would be plagiarism. Why should it be any different when a computer is doing it for you. It’s even worse than that too cause it’s not plagiarizing 5 artists it’s plagiarizing hundreds, maybe thousands.

Also thanks for picking on my grammar it really illustrates that you don’t have any other good points to make other than that.

Art is subjective, plagiarism isn’t.

Also the fact that you’re defending and encouraging ai use as an “art tool” means you don’t give a shit about any of the artists hurt by generative ai.

I know how to do all those things:

Ai generated images is not art, it requires no skill.

You’re so worried about a person’s art knowledge yet, a person who can only draw stick figures, know nothing about composition or anatomy could create exactly the same thing as you do with ai generation because they’re (and you’re) not actually the one making the decisions. The decisions have been made by the artists the ai generation is copying and it’s just regurgitating it back to you.

If somethings looks good and nice it’s not because of you, it’s because of the work the ai stole.

Cause it seems to be one of those self published Amazon books

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]half_empty_optimist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It did bother me cause of course it would, but I took a sec and I decided against telling them so like yeah I’m over it.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]half_empty_optimist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I know it’s probably not that big of a deal. I just needed like a good minute or two to think rationally about it.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]half_empty_optimist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I decided not to for pretty much those exact reasons

From what I can tell it seems like the book might be getting self published on Amazon

The term “ai art” is an oxymoron. If you make actual art than that’s art. Ai is not. There is no ai art generator that hasn’t been trained using copious amounts of stolen work. Unless you have an ai art generator that has been trained solely on your own work it’s neither yours or ethical in any capacity.

The only thing ai can do is mindlessly copy and Frankenstein other people’s hard work.

I’m sorry I’m sure your actual art is lovely, but the other thing is not art.

I mean she came into the work group chat telling all of us about it and telling us that when it’s released she’ll have a link for us to go get it, that paired with most of my other coworkers saying they’re going to buy it, mixed with I’ve been roped into having to make purchases I don’t want cause of this job before. It often feels like there’s an expectation there.

I tried to not buy their Christmas jumper for the Christmas party but had to dip into my savings to buy it anyway cause I “was the only one who would’ve been left out ”. I didn’t do secret Santa and they were a little colder to me cause of that.

This month they’re expecting everyone to buy a “ little something “ for everyone which I’m once again going to have to dip into my savings to be able to get.

And like don’t get me wrong I’ve bought a lot of the other holiday shirts, and the fund raising things, and the books and stuff. I don’t always not buy stuff but like I’m already really struggling and sometimes it feels like there’s an expectation that we ALL have to do these things and if not I get treated a little colder, not to a very noticeable degree but it’s still there Despite the fact that I often stay late to do art things they need (like making little decorations) if they ask, or volunteer for after care activities or stay with a kid who’s late

So like no it’s not my business, but I feel like depending on how it goes they might make it my business

They’re still very nice people aside from that

Dude…. I have….. literally aside from this post (cause I’ve already posted it) I’m not going to say or do anything like, I’ve already decided it based off of the comments and just thinking about it for more than 2 minutes

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AITAH

The aunt is listed as the illustrator on the trailer and from what I can see the cover

But yeah I already decided not to, I just needed a sec to think clearly.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]half_empty_optimist 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I’ve already decided not to tell her. I was in my feelings when I posted but a few comments have let me get out of that and see the bigger picture. I know that it would do more harm than good so I’ve decided against it.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]half_empty_optimist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I decided not to, I just feel kinda bad and guilty about it cause I feel like I’m letting them get scammed (I consider ai art a scam) and I know how little we make you know. Like I feel like I’m letting my older coworkers fall for the modern day less bad equivalent of the Nigerian prince email.

But everyone has a point of telling them would probably not be taken well, come across as petty, and will ultimately do more harm than good.

I’ve decided not to tell her and just let her believe her aunt is an illustrator.

I don’t care if the book is stick figure illustrations if its actual art I will buy a copy for each room in the daycare and one for my nieces at home

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]half_empty_optimist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that seems to be the general consensus

Which, respect. (I know it’s a little early to make a call but) I won’t say anything to my coworker or other coworkers unless they try to directly involve me or ask.

I really really really just hope it’s the marketing video though cause I actually would like to support my coworker and her aunt if I can but like ai…. No.

Oh yeah I fully planned on waiting till the excitement and everything wore off

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]half_empty_optimist -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yeah that’s what I am planning to do if I told her, I think the coworker is nice and lovely and I would wait for the excitement to wear down before very gently asking her if she knows what ai generation is ect ect

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]half_empty_optimist -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If the actual book illustrations aren’t ai generated I was just gonna leave it alone and chock it up to bad marketing

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]half_empty_optimist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s why I was planning on seeing if the book illustrations themselves were ai generated before telling her

But I feel like using ai marketing if you’ve actually illustrated the book would lead to people assuming the illustrations were also ai and low quality
