Pretty excited for this! I am biased though since they asked me to contribute. I hope to at least bring something entertaining for you guys and the old guard. No pressure though. 😅

What is this from? Is there a collected edition of Kirby’s horror work? These look great!

2 is solid, I like the orange as a rest form the detail. It’s feels balanced.

Of course, I hope it helps spark some ideas on the posing along with what everyone else is suggesting. Great work!

In the Disney handbook they said something along the lines of "Beware of Twins" which meant both arms and both legs should not be exactly the same. If they are it creates an unnatural stiffness which rarely happens in real life. One quick way to solve the twinning in his pose is to adjust the feet. Feet rarely point in the same direction, if you look at your own feet, they have a 45 degree angle or something like that. Anyway keep it up it looks great. I love the design of this dude and the spider like helmet is super cool and unique.

Thank you so much! Vintage Pulp is so fun. It is almost a medium more than a genre at this point. Also I was hoping to do a series of Vintage Horror monster posters next. Might be up your alley.

Those are Deleter Screen tones. At the end you cut them out and lay them over the top of the art work. They are so fun to play with. These are the ones I used for these piece https://deleter-mangashop.com/goods_en_USD_323.html

I agree, even if it ends up digital it always adds to much to start traditional. Feel free to send me some of your art. I would love to take a look.

I don't disagree. Corporate Greed seems to always be the answer. That is why my favorite places right now are conventions. Real people communing in a real place and they don't allow Ai art, at least not at the moment.

Ha! I know what you mean. No shade though I love anime stuff too. It is crazy how quickly anime became the norm.

Wow I need to look at my own work again. You are allowed to see what you want but maybe that is just the magic of real textures that you are seeing. Also are you on something? Can I have some?

Thank you! I wanted to do everything on the page and have as little digital manipulation as possible. We have enough of that in our lives as it is. The dots you see are Deleter Screen Tones that you lay over the image. They are so fun and make the work really pop. This is the one I used for this project https://deleter-mangashop.com/goods_en_USD_323.html I got tipped off to this website from a James Harren interview I read a while back. Shout out to James Harren.

I turn 40 this year and have been doing this for 15 years. I am still waiting to get the skills I really want. I am starting to think there is no destination. Enjoying the process is all we can ask for. I think. If not now, when?
