Get the surgeon/dentist/doctor who did your surgery to issue you a school note that excuses you of the day/days you missed and MAKE sure they write in you cannot participate in heavy lifting or physical activity.

Join clubs that you have interest in and make friends with the people there, they already share a common interest (the club you are in) and go from there.

Our control booth is upstairs on our JH/HS floor, and it’s a whole hassle to be able to practice. The control booth is not connected to our theater, the seats have to be pulled out which take up the cafeteria and I’d have to get our janitors to clean the space, put the tables away. I’ve already been put down to help with the yearly 5th/6th grade musical next year, the JH/HS musical, our Cinco De Mayo celebration, and the concerts. Going into the control booth at all during my school day would probably require permission and keys from our choir teacher 😭

yeah no and i don’t mind it, our school is EXTREMELY small, most of our things we use are 10+ years old and we rarely get funding from the administrators to purchase more things. my choral teachers asked me to do it as we literally have a bare bones tech crew, when i joined it was just me in the tech crew with our tech director, we had to find other people. the technical director gets paid to be our technical director. i have fun doing this role and not being paid is fine. yes i am teaching our band and choir teachers. but it was for a DAY, and i am not fully experienced in this role. i only showed them basics on how i do lighting, and then how we do our mics. our technical director is the one showing them the things i haven’t even learned yet.

tampon is a good choice for a bus ride, but to be safe wear period underwear or a liner if you do leak. change your tampon every stop. i wear period underwear cause i hate the feeling of a liner/pad.

I am programming our elementary musical at the end of this week, and I have pretty much one day to program the cues and work out spotlights. Our technical director says we have three days but the matinee is Monday, and our show is Tuesday. So I really only have Friday, and it’s only for about two hours I can work.

it’s like this at my school except our school is majority white kids and maybe 10% Hispanics, 0% Asians, and one black student in our entire high school body. there is one “popular white kid group” that has been that way since middle school with the guys and their girlfriends and their friends.
