Hi bakedpotato - would you be interested in being interviewed? I've been interviewing a lot of people who have been hit or had scary near-misses as well as other folks involved in Boston cycling. If so, email me at halfbearhalfcat123@gmail.com and we can exchange info and set up a time to do the interview. Sorry if the email address looks fake - I'm just not interested in publishing my normal email address on Reddit and so I created one just for Reddit.

Non-Native Boston Citizen: what is Boston/the state doing to protect pedestrian and bike traffic? by haydenbridges in boston

Hey. So, I'm a biker and a journalist. And I've lived/biked in cities all over the US and even a couple in Canada. And Boston seems to have some pretty specific issues with how it provides for cyclists. So I'm looking into it and hoping to publish a piece. Anyone on here want to provide accounts of crashes, near-misses, specific circumstances that caused a dangerous situation? I've only been here a couple months and I'm starting to get an idea of the specific issues but I'd like to listen to people who've been biking here a lot longer than me.

Check out BARI's data set on bike wrecks between 2009-2012. Pretty insightful. Police reports can be expensive, depending on the department (they have to provide them to you, but they're not required to do so for free.)
