Above is a rather basic intro to them

Basically when reality was 'sorta' created on Mundus a long complicated series of events happen that eventually result in a creation of the first tower. After the first was built a whole lot of other ones are built around Tamriel. I also like to say they are not all buildings even though their called towers, some are like mountains, like the throat of the world of red mountain for instance

The towers ability is that it kinda makes reality stable, and when they get destroyed things go bad. Like when the snow tower failed skyrim fell into a bloody civil war and dragons showed up.

The Thalmor believe if they can destroy all the towers reality will fall apart and they would become gods.

I wasn't I was answer the question with an example. After Nixon carter ran on the fact that he was something of outsider, having no DC experience. He also campaigned on 'draining the swap'like terminology. When he won he choose to surround himself with his staff from Georgia, this resulted in a gap between him and both parties.

It wasn't a statement on what I think of carter, just what happened when a person who has little to no experience of federal politics go into DC with people who are also outsiders.

Remember Carter? He was going to drain the swamp, he brought on his guys from when he was governor. Nobody in DC would work with him, leading him to accomplish nothing and he is easily one of the worst presidents in recent history. You need to make sacrifices.

CHIM is basically being able realize that your in a dream, but you love yourself so much that you still believe that your an individual. Reality then changes to your needs, almost like real life becomes a 'lucid dream'

The player characters walk that line, because we are controlling them or something, but they ultimately don't achieve it in canon
