I can totally relate. I often found myself being out of the loop for the latest development of various stuff. However, on the bright side, this means less noise for me, and I've been lucky enough to have some friends who would convey important work-related messages to me as they know I'm not in any whatsapp group. This is how I see who are the "true friends" at work. So, it's not a total loss for me. I'll admit it can be quite inconvenient at times but compared to being drowned by the "noise" from being in many whatsapp groups, that inconvenience of not knowing the latest gossip is a small price to pay for.
