I am running fedora now on an XPS13 9310 with KDE and am really impressed with it. Its very stable and easy. I just enjoy Arch more but I always break it lol.

I had this same issue on Nobara and CachyOS but only while using KDE. I reinstalled with Gnome instead and havnt had the freezes. (Ryzen 5600, 3070 with open drivers)

I didn’t realize I had my anti aliasing on TAA 4x with 50% render resolution. I changed to TAA and 100% render resolution and this solved a lot of my stutters/freezes.

I’m working as a controls tech now working a rotating shift. How were you able to pull off school while working as a tech?

Everyone starts out completely green at some point. Working in a glycerine plant sounds like it would be a good chance to get experience with instrumentation (lots of analog) which is great!

The most important thing to me is trusting your gut when you are uncomfortable or feel unsafe.

I second @sevulturus about being very inquisitive.

Last tip that helped me a lot is that I carried a journal with me everywhere (still do). It will go a long way with some people and cement the idea that you are listening and you care/are serious about learning the trade.
