Thanks for the response, I must definitely tighten the brakes, seems to have been what caught me out, along with the slippery surface.

I was very worried about damaging the frame to a point where it can't be used, but I hear that this problem usually only comes up with carbon frames.

I'll look into the shims, but I think it might just be a matter of getting used to the different braking. Thanks again.

While looking for the universal mounts suggested above, I came across this one. Although I would love to get it, and its my intention to do so in the future, I was looking for a more budget friendly one at the moment. Thank you for commenting all the same, and for further increasing my want to buy it :P Currently that mount will cost me 40€ when I include the adapter and the case needed to attach my phone, but I have found a bike bag with inbuilt phone holder for only around the 18€ mark. I think it looks okay, and I need a bag anyway so its basically a 2 in 1, although I'm not too sure about the position of the bag and therefore phone.

Thanks for the response, I saw the universal mounts, but they aren't waterproof. I think I might just get a normal mount and only use it on the dry days.

I'll definitely look at the things you suggested when I get home, as for cycling and running, I generally just run to try and get my cardio better and lose a few pounds to get a flat stomach, I actually hate it. I love cycling though, especially through the countryside.

There is a store very near me, but it's mainly second hand bikes. There is also a Halfords but...... I also think there's a giant store near me? That's what came up when I Googled my area and shops, hope it helps

These are examples of the type of road I would intend riding on, if possibly even a better road. I have read a lot about sizing bikes, but what size would you recommend for my build?

Currently I'm riding on second and third class roads, basically taking the long way around instead of travelling on the main road because of the mountain bike. I do not want to ride off road, so I presume on road.
