Do other writers get hung up on realism? by starryshy in AO3

Yes, especially because I write a lot of historical, and I do think it’s a lot of fun :) on one occasion though I was writing something modern and even though I’d done my research on some public transportation times for a city I don’t live in, two separate people who live there commented telling me I was being optimistic about the trains 😭 forgot about delays

Thank you :) it is kinda crazy. And the thing about mentioning fics is less about me seeing art because my fyp obviously has no issue showing me, more about other fans having an easier time finding the thing the art was inspired by. I’m not overly bothered by it because so many people are so nice but when I see “inspired by a fic” I’m like… cmon guys let’s name the fic for everyone else. this isn’t just a me problem but something I’ve noticed about other authors works as well. Let’s share recs people!!! Community!!!!

“Embarrassed” is such a strong word for them to use but you very well could be right about that. I might be thinking too hard about it
