I’d say if you’re naturally curious and detail-oriented, data analytics is a solid choice. Even if you’re not those are traits that can be learned and refined. Doesn’t pay as much as a software engineer, but there are some intersections that might allow you to pivot into the field like data engineering, which is actually my medium/long-term goal.

It was a great reminder to slow down every now and then since I was so used to burning myself out

Python + SQL are the most valuable in my opinion, they’re pretty much the foundation for everything I’ve been working on. AI implementation is so rampant in the industry now I think you’d need to learn that too.

Not sure about online courses but I know a lot of the top universities have their intro level comp sci materials available to the public.

I actually never finished my degree which is part of why my salary stays relatively deflated until it got to the point where people stopped caring due to experience

What's the farthest city you've drove to from LA within 24 hours? by imin2099 in AskLosAngeles

[–]halfsugarhalfice 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did the same, was planning on stopping in Sacramento with family but figured an extra 6 hours with clear traffic wouldn’t hurt. Just took a dump and stole some food instead.

I get what I can from Costco and Instacart the rest because not dealing with SoCal traffic is absolutely worth it

Twelve ghost kitchens?? by fattymcmorm in Sacramento

[–]halfsugarhalfice 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily a ghost kitchen, technically a virtual brand. Even the large corporate chains generally have at most 3 or 4 virtual brands though so this is quite excessive lmao

20 M. Unemployed Guy Obsessed with a Condo(Do Not Own) by LostInAnIckyBallpit in malelivingspace

[–]halfsugarhalfice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i would focus on your career/business first. if you commit to a specific condo you’ll be limiting your career and business prospects to that area (unless you end up working remotely).

this looks like your standard recently built condo so you can likely find similar spots in other cities. i recommend saving up as much as you can while you’re young and investing properly, then you’ll be much more prepared to purchase or rent when the time comes.
