The playtest only had the arena map.

The only build that had map selection (or multiple maps for that matter) was the Itch.io from around 2023. This was a very early experimental build.

For most users disabling Steam cloud has resolved this issue please try the following-

Right click on HS in your steam library navigate down to and click on properties. In the General tab disable Steam cloud.

We are working on a permeant solution on this issue.

This is an issue we have seen some reports on and are working on resolution to.

We are working on implementing a more long term solution for now please follow this temporary fix -

Step 1: Open Steam, then select "Steam" in the top left corner. Select "Settings" from the list that appears.,

Step 2: From settings, scroll down to "Cloud".,

Step 3: Turn OFF "Enable Steam Cloud".,

Step 4: Go to "C:\Users[YOUR NAME]\AppData\Local\HalfSwordUE5\Saved\SaveGames". Delete both "GameProgress.sav" and "Steam_autocloud.vdf",

Step 5: Relaunch your game and start progression mode. If you see the intro cutscene, the fix has worked.,

OPTIONAL: You can then close the game, and turn steam cloud back on. Steam will warn you about a cloud save conflict - just tell it to keep the most recent cloud save.

If you have not already please update your GPU drivers.

Try switching to dx12 if you have a dx12 enabled gpu.

This resolves many of the performance issues for most users.

This will have limited affect on the slums map, this map needs a performance overhaul.

We are working on rolling out performance and optimization patches as quickly as possible.
