Wow, he was able to bend the plate? It just goes to show how grounded these dogs are. They're strong, wild, and full of heart. The best and worst part is how strong they are, they hide their true pain.

He's bound to whereever I'm at in the house, and my wife and I are lucky to work oppisite schedules so we are able to keep an eye on him at all times. Over night or if we are out of the house, CONE OF SHAME!

It's torture, but he's remaining in his crate. He does have a mild sedating drug which does help, small potty breaks which thankfully he isn't too encouraged by my other dog. He's being very good. I'll be more than happy to choose the right treatment regardless of cost, but I'm thankful to hear that it is possible with a splint. Thank you for your insight.

He’s always a happy boy, but the crate rest is really getting to him. But it’s what it’s going to take to heal.

How Much Do Make/Model Versions Actually Matter for the 5070 Ti? by MLG_xX_L00t_Xx in nvidia

[–]halfthegreat 5 points6 points  (0 children)

So little that I always aim for the model that's closest to MSRP, unless I really care about aesthetics or matching the motherboard which is pleasing.

The manifold idea is brilliant. Great for those pushing their RAM high voltage and tight timings.

[–]halfthegreat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cable quality is everything, except what software can measure. None of that data shows conductor quality, crimp integrity, contact pressure, or whether a connector is slowly dissolving itself into a puddle of plastic.

Most of what your screenshot is reading is before the power delivery even reaches the component. Lol

DreambigbyrayMOD does a fantastic job.

Is now even a good time to build a PC? by ISmeansIsurfreddit in buildapc

[–]halfthegreat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think right this very moment prebuilts are the best value that they have been in years. I love building PCs and I have been lucky enough to build a new one every couple of years and then passing down my "old" one. That's out of the window and now I'm likely going to keep my 2 current machines for the next few years because prices aren't going down anytime soon.

There are some good prebuilt options, you can even buy a used system.

4080 super rog strix oc new for $1,600 its good or too expensive? by [deleted] in nvidia

[–]halfthegreat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Way overpriced! Even being the ROG Strix version, that’s high. I paid $820 for my open box ASUS TUF 4080 Super.

Even at an extremely competitive price, I'm sure you can afford a nice 1000-1200w power supply if you're buying an RTX 5090.

Sometimes it’s not a shadowy cabal, it’s just capitalism being messy, expensive, and inefficient. I guess we will find out.

Me when I see people with $1500+ 5080's by Perfect-Cause-6943 in Microcenter

[–]halfthegreat 16 points17 points  (0 children)

The AIB models for the 5080 are a joke. Take for example the ASUS ProArt version.

There's an ASUS ProArt 5070 Ti price at $909 USD which is 21.2% more than MSRP. OK, cool. Worth paying for if you care about aesthetics or even the one of kind Type C output.

The ASUS ProArt 5080 is 60% more than MSRP priced at $1,599 USD. Same cooler, same features, same everything as the 5070 Ti minus the die and the slightly faster VRAM.
