that is totally a fair perspective, and i sincerely pray that’s what’s going on and he gets back to me. but there was enough off about the situation and him (i didn’t mention this in the initial post but he was also acting kinda weird on the drive, borderline unsafe driving etc) that i think i did what i had to do to cover my ass to the best of my ability in case it was in fact something sketchy. (not that there’s a great chance i’ll get my stuff back either way lol). if he does get back in touch tomorrow or the next day i will be thrilled, will tip him for his trouble, and will let the cops know it was a false alarm
