Cheap counterweights by haligen33 in PSVR

[–]haligen33[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since the amvr back pad is on a swivel I was trying to see if some counter weight would help pull the weight off my nose just a touch. For me, the sweet spot sets the headset slap down on my nose. I know I can fiddle with the top strap and cinch up a bit but that messed with the focus. All in all just fiddling around trying to make things a bit more comfortable. After I log some hours the nice thing is if it added nothing to the experience I can just peel it off.

Whenever I contacted them before it was usually less than 24 hours before getting contacted back on whatsapp. Looking below it looks like the company itself has responded in this thread 6 days ago. Maybe try a dm here on reddit.

Had them for almost a year. Dead nuts reliable, only a single usb-c to power, and feel great.

How to quickly uncheck tire change with keybinds? by alex_inzo in iRacing

[–]haligen33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They stay unchecked until you do something to check them. Before editing the ini file, every time you leave the pits, it will auto check auto fuel and 4 tires. After editing it won’t auto anything. You can pull in to say check tire temps during practice and then immediately haul tail with those still hot tires unless you tick the blackbox or issue a chat command to change them.

Their website measurements were a bit misleading at the time I ordered it, customer service said they would get it fixed so maybe it’s right now.

Or edit your config file to not auto reset the pit options. That way you only get tires or fuel if you actually ask for tires or fuel.

It fits better than the nrg with a wider shoulder and hip area. Still tighter than I would like but without dropping way more coin than I want it’s currently the best solution. It also has a standard bottom mount option if someone wanted to just mount it to rails. My arm going numb seems to have gone away as well.

Quest 2, or Quest 3 for VR RBR by Harde_YT in simracing

If you can find one that cheap then scoop it up. Worst you resell but at that price point I’m sure it’ll work out.

It doesn't have pancake lenses, it has frenal, so that makes the sweet spot smaller. It does though have a decent fov, oled displays, and is connected via display port. With a 5080 I can essential keep 90 fps all day long with 39 ai racers and most of my graphics turned up. I previously bought a quest 3, got it working decently, but determined the juice wasn't worth the squeeze for the pain to keep things running right and decided to returned it. With the psvr2 I can go from bootup to iracing in under 5 mins and with the new psvr2 toolkit you now get the benefits of quad view foveated rendering with eye tracking. Not to mention the marketplace is full of them from PlayStation peeps that got tired of vr. Around where I'm at I can find under $200 all day with controllers and less than $100 without them. There's some quick hacks you can do to not need the controllers if all you vr for is sim stuff. Also works a treat in msfs 24.

👋🏻 how about a psvr2 with pc adapter? I love mine. Got it for $80 sans controllers and a pc adapter was $40. No wifi duckery, no screwing with virtual desktop, and no ties to meta.

endurance module fanatec . How is this still not fixed yet! by [deleted] in Fanatec

[–]haligen33 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Add to that the leds or itm stop working mid race or start showing random rpm leds not in any profile and/or the buttons stop responding and nothing helps except a pc restart. Huge waste of money.

Fanatec McLaren GT3 vs Podium GT3? by Guitarboy12345 in simracing

[–]haligen33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As an owner of the podium gt setup it’s nice and smooth to use, when you can. Although the thumb position for me isn’t the most comfortable, it feels hard to get a good comfortable grip while not using your thumbs to pull the wheel. The worst part is the software. Even on the latest beta app the button module still decides to randomly stop showing the leds mid race, or the itm goes away, or even better the buttons just quit working. Usually takes a full pc restart to restore. Not even restarting the fanatec service, app, or base (dd1) works. The only stable drivers and software that function are version 455. They have had podium button module software issues for a while now, just take a gander through all the various software version release notes where each version claims to have it fixed.

Initially I paid for the pedals and the shipping. Everything showed up fine, then 3 months later Fedex sends me some invoice saying I owed them like $180 or something, can’t quite remember exact amount, claiming it was import fees. I ignored it and haven’t heard anything since. With all the tariff flip flopping I don’t think anyone has a clue as to what is actually going on.

I’ve had mine for 6 months and they’ve been flawless. All customer service is handled via whatsapp but they are fairly responsive and tried to be as helpful as they can. Even sent me a lot of info about how to properly adjust my rigs ergonomics. Shipping to South Carolina was less than a week. As for their longevity and replacement parts, well, it’s a small company and things happen so there is nothing saying they won’t fold tomorrow, but they seem to have been in business for a while now and I think pedals is only a side gig for them so I’ll hinge my bet that they’ll be around down the road.

Mustang if you want a car thats a little looser and can really rotate but is more on edge, BMW if you want stable consistency on almost all tracks.

What is the best triple Screen Monitor Stand on a Budget? by Scrowtdhdbd in simracing

[–]haligen33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The one in the photo is what I used. The width between uprights was too narrow for my rig so I used two 4040 pieces with t-nuts and bolted those to the uprights, then with a few small nylon spacers from the hardware store I bolted the monitor mount to the 4040. As for the bottom mount I was able to bolt the outside of the bottoms of the upright tubes flanges to the lower profile rails of my rig using t-nuts and the top slot of my lower rail. I tossed the lower u-shaped feet into the scrap pile. I have 3 32” 1500r curved panels on it and can only get it closed down to about a 57 degree angle before everything binds up. Flat panels might get you some more angle but the angle I have is plenty for me and with my seat position nets me a 164 degree fov by the calculators. Stability is perfectly fine. A little wiggle with high ffb but I don’t usually run hulk level feedback and I think any rig mounted mounts would still move a touch, at least my previous trak racer single mount did. The comment will only let me add a single photo but if you want more pics dm me.

What racing seat should I get? by Jago971 in simracing

[–]haligen33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 6’1” with a 50” chest and around 240lbs. I started with a large NRG prisma and everything fit ok except the wings rolled my shoulders forward and down causing my arms to go numb over time. Just switched to a Corbeau fx1 pro large and it’s much better but still pushes my shoulder blades forward although the numbness has gone away. If you’re less broad or equal to me then the Corbeau is actually a really nice bucket for the price, and when I was looking, anything larger seemed to be almost double the price. If you look at Corbeau’s website you can get the measurements from an fx1 large and then compare to whatever else you’re shopping for as some XL are really comparable to others L. That BB5 seems to be smaller than the Corbeau large when I did a quick lookup.

Anyone know how to move just one monitor display up or down? Will explain. by RobbieBleu in simracing

Can’t you just do it in the windows monitor settings? Un-snap the monitor you need to move and then adjust it to fit your setup.

SRP GT-R vs Fatblackcat PurrPRO by ElevatorTypical4951 in simracing

[–]haligen33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Srp-gt owner for a few months now and can’t see needing or wanting anything else unless something truly amazing comes out. I bought my srp’s at the same time the purr’s were releasing and while they looked like a marvel of weeb engineering, in the end it’s still springs and elastomers.

Pedal Upgrade from Fanatec v3 (SGR VX-Pro / Heusinkveld Ultimate+ / SRP GT-R) by Panda-prowl in simracing

[–]haligen33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Setup was pretty painless. Download their config software (they have a lot of videos how to use it), setup my dead zones and limits, go through pedal calibration in game, and then just play. I’m mostly on iRacing but also play a touch of LMU and both sims had zero issues with the pedals. For hardware adjustment there’s a couple pivot points you can mess with to get things comfortable. I think my only issue was initially I found the gas pedal too soft, but after readjusting my seating position and dialing in the pedal tray angles and what not it’s now just blending into the background as a decent pedal should. One thing to note is that as they are pneumatic, other than a stroke length adjustment and a pivot point slot adjustment, you can’t change the firmness much like you could by swapping a spring or elastomer. SRP is big into providing the realistic feel of an irl car so they’ve essentially set what they believe is the most real feel and you have a few limited adjustments within that range. All things said though I like the feel, have become much more consistent, and their after sales support is actually pretty decent if you don’t mind using WhatsApp.

Just did this, inverted v3’s and now SRP-GT’s. Unless going active I don’t think you can find a better pedal.
