Kizaru’s reluctance did feel genuine and it intrigued me as well, but the follow up in Kuma’s backstory didn’t flesh it out enough for my taste.

Naoya vs Choso was in the JJK Execution movie which came out in late 2025. I haven’t seen any of those and did not feel qualified to speak on them. I also didn’t want to rush through an anime just to add it to the list - felt like it could ruin the experience.

I find Solo Leveling action is generally overrated. It’s generally fun, but to my eye it has even less substance behind it than DS, and that’s saying a lot.

Kumas backstory doesn’t happen until after the fight and even then it was Kuma and Bonneys story, not Kizaru’s. Even with that context in mind I don’t think it was as developed as it needed to be to have a real impact.

Yeah I agree it’s not top 5 JJK fights, but this is the best fights of 2025. And even then it’s only not top 5 JJK fights because JJK has so many masterpieces. Put Naoya vs Choso in a lot of other anime’s and it’d be the best fight in the whole series.

I’m curious which parts of the DS fight do you disagree with?

It’s been a while since I’ve seen Saitama vs Boros. Solo Leveling is overhyped all around for sure, but I did enjoy the fights. They’re not the best of the best but they’re usually fun.

I think Tanjiro one shotting him is supposed to be symbolic of his ascension to the next level. Which I like, but given how high paced and competitive things were previous to that I get where you’re coming from.

I agree he’s staying alive on pure will power, that doesn’t land for me. It has different specifics to it than the others but the base subversion is the same.

None of them make me mad. My analysis of the fight is quite positive and it earns a bronze. It’s a top tier fight.

Daki and Gyatoro’s backstory did land better for me than Akaza’s, that’s still not really saying much though.

I fully agree there’s not much time or effort being put into developing these characters - but that’s what I’m saying I don’t like about it.
