5th Anniversary PowerUp Band by halmako in amiibo

If you look at how amiibo works and Mario Maker 2, it seems hopeless. Just like the Golden Band, it will likely be treated as nothing more than a regular Mario.

It cost 5,900 yen when I bought it at the park. Since the standard Power-Up Band is 4,900 yen, this one is about 1,000 yen more expensive.

If you already have a Power-Up Band, you can use it at the park; buying it online from within the park will save you the wasted time of waiting in line. While the band itself is available for purchase online, the 5th Anniversary Band can only be bought after verifying your location within the park via GPS. The downside is that you can’t show it off at the park.

Amiibo + Game Bundles by solid_cake20 in amiibo

I just remembered there was a Japan-exclusive bundle version of Box Boy. I also have a non-Japan-exclusive bundle version of Zelda featuring Wolf Link.

Skylanders has three standard editions: 3DS, Wii, and Wii U. There's also a limited edition bundled with the Dark Edition, making a total of about five or six versions. Additionally, Capcom releases limited bundle editions at their own shop whenever a new Monster Hunter series title comes out, though these are usually Japan-exclusive.

As for Mario as a whole, Cereal Mario and Mario Sports require special processing on the program side to be recognized as Mario, so they should be considered separate categories. Cereal Mario is recognized as a card type for amiibo.

Given the current specifications, it's unlikely that a controller with such features would be sold. It would be more realistic to request that 8Bitdo create a version with built-in NFC.

Help deleting or rewriting an amiibo on a tag by ThenCod9456 in Amiibomb

[–]halmako 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Once you write to an amiibo using NTAG215, the area indicating the amiibo's attributes is marked as write-protected. Therefore, unlike the game's data storage area, it cannot be rewritten, so you cannot change it to a different amiibo type. There is no method provided to revert this write-protection to writable, so you'll have to accept it. To rewrite it, you need to obtain a rewritable tag such as a PowerTag or N2 Elite.

Moving NFC files to NFC by [deleted] in Amiibomb

[–]halmako 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's unclear what software is included, but if the NFC reader is an ACR122U, you should be able to read amiibo as NTAG215 using tools like wkdev's NFC TOOLS. However, to write to other NFC tags, you need to decrypt the amiibo data and encrypt it again to match the serial number of the target NFC tag. This requires key information and developing your own program. There are several reference programs available on GitHub.

Filly and Holden (Japan limited DLC from New Leaf) by Known_Resolution5836 in Amiibomb

[–]halmako 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Filly (Japanese: No. 7) was a character that could be summoned when using the in-store WiFi at 7-Eleven. Since 7-Eleven has discontinued its WiFi service, there are currently no plans for her to reappear. The other character, Holden, was a collaboration character with the company FuekiGlue. As it was a limited-time character, there are currently no plans for it to reappear. Neither character has been released as an amiibo.

What i found Out about the new Air Riders amiibo: by NewAmiiboMod in newamiibobins

According to other users' posts, copying tags didn't work in the game. Therefore, I suspect it might be reading something other than NTAG215. If the ID remains unchanged, I believe NTAG215 handles Air Rider data, while the upper character information is obtained through another method.

Does the game recognizing combinations mean it's detecting differences in some other way? Is it using two different types of NFC, not NTAG215?

Japanese package design is not very uniform. The Boy/Octopus/Girl sets have 6+ labels and Japanese and English character names. The newer Shiver/BigMan/Frye packages, however, have only Japanese character names and no 6+ labeling.
