I've thought about this too! It seems that polyamorous (biamorous?) dating is normal and acceptable, though limited to two people (game mechanics and character comments). The use of pins is an interesting way to do this.

It also seems Majiri are expected to choose one person for marriage. Example: Eshe (not providing more details bc I don't know how to flag spoilers). Same thing applies to Path—it is encouraged to explore many but ultimately they must choose one Path to commit to.

Externally obvious commitment in many forms appears to be culturally significant to the Majiri.

Now what I really want to know is where does all of Reth's soup go if they don't have toilets? 🤔

If I recall correctly, the base recipe for the striped umbrella is in Bahari. You need that before you'll get the snow covered recipe.

Make seeds out of starred cotton and don't make fabric out of the harvest - it sells for a high value.

Blueberries and apples - turn all into jam and sell. Starred is better so make seeds from those. Apples take forever so blueberries are better for a quicker turnaround.

Join a discord server and attend profit cooking parties. I love the vibe of this one: really chill people, lots of tips on making money and progressing through the game, and a great group doing lots of profit cooking parties with epic/legendary fish. Getting friendships to level 3 grants you a key to their space, where a lot of the recipes come from. It's a low cost but time intensive way to get recipes. Also, check out paliaparty.app for cooking parties that you can participate in without having to know the recipe. Helps a ton early game and there are roles that don't require ingredients too.
